The only thread on this topic I could find was this one from two years ago.
I wanted to ask a different question though: would you be open to dating an AI?
There are a couple different scenarios I could see this going down. On the one hand you have the "ubiquitous AI companion" like in Bladerunner 2049 with the Joi character. On the other hand you have Cortana from Halo or EDI from Mass Effect. The downside of the first case is that there is no sense of exclusivity of choice, you weren't chosen as a good mate but rather the AI was programmed to love you, you are nothing special. In the second instance, there is massive increase in AI autonomy, they are proper independent personalities that can leave you. In both cases they lack a body, though for the sake of argument we'll say that these AI will be able to inhabit a sex-bot that does not trigger the uncanny valley within ten years.
So, first question; would you be open to dating an AI at all? Second; under what circumstances?
One of the arguments against AI dating brought up by Futurama, and likely other sources, is that an AI partner will be far more perfect for you than any human ever could be, no matter how idiosyncratic your personal needs and preferences. A potential counter argument is that advancements in AI generated content lead to fine-tuning in human instincts for detecting AI, which then leads to a depreciation for such content. If people were to be able to intuit that the individual they flirting with were an AI then they would likely depreciate the emotional engagement as opposed to a human relationship. Similarly, between mirror neurons (i.e. magic) and dopamine formed emotional connections due to sex and other emotionally charged connections, there would be a significant difference in viability even after the textual intelligence was up to par.
