I might just use that in my own Stargate fic, because that's a really nice design.

Yes, because as long as you keep from adding anything that specifically contradicts the fact that there is a Dreadnought submarine, people will just assume that's the thing being referenced.

Dreadnought would probably be the one they go with, that was their first nuclear submarine, so it would be a good fit for their first combat capable spaceship. Only complication is if they don't mind using their new SSBN, also named Dreadnought, as cover.

I see you came up with a reason why the Goa'uld can't just fly over to Earth and wreck its shit. Nice Farscape references too.

Split it into multiple chapters if it's that big.

It's just confusing when you give the character the name of a major recurring character from Star Trek: Deep Space 9.

So, is "Garak" supposed to be Gerak, the former First Prime who went over to the Ori side in SG-1 season 9 or 10?

So... I guess that the whole "nothing survives of the host" thing that SG-1 disproved is in full effect with this universe.

Honestly, the only thing that's questionable is having the 6.8mm rounds be incendiary or whatever. As far as I know, they're only available in regular "ball" and armor piercing projectiles at the moment.

I mean, they were only pathetic when compared to high end stuff, like Asgard, Ancient, and Ori ships. They're pretty good all-round general purpose ships in the general scifi sense. The thing the Goa'uld needed most was a bit more variety than fighter/small transport/mid-range bomber/capital...

Random thought - would thermobaric grenades be a better counter to Jaffa armor than pure armor piercing rounds?

It all seems pretty consistent. The only thing that really surprised me was having Teal'c's wife be involved in his rebellion, which is definitely better than what the show did and makes him less of an asshole.

They are apparently happening now. They intend to announce the winner during Q3 or Q4 of this year.

Sig's guns are literally the worst of all worlds and wouldn't work with Textron ammo. You have to use an entirely different action because they feature push-through extraction, not pull-out extraction like modern guns do. Sig is only in the running because they needed two competitors to Textron...

The Textron stuff is super simple to clean and clear. It's even easier than the existing guns in inventory. That said, whether or not the Army's overmatch thing is dumb (and this is certainly something characters in the story can comment on), it's not just a new rifle/LMG and new ammo. It's a...

Odds are that the SGC, as a spec ops branch, will have first dibs on these things, whatever their formal designation will be: Admittedly, since the trials aren't over yet, there's a decent chance they get these things too: It'd be funny as hell if the SGC wound up deciding they want the...

Apophis being a big douchebag kept in line by his brother fits both timelines pretty well. Is the SGC going to be rocking the NGSWs? A 6.8mm AP round seems like a good solution for the souped up Jaffa.

Not really sold that this version of O'Neill would A) tell his surviving kids about a super secret op he did, B) let them join the military, or C) allow them to serve under Hammond while knowing about Ra's empire. Also, not really feeling keeping the old "people in the gate room" schtick. Even...

I see what you did there. Also, which three galaxies does Ra rule? Milky Way, obviously, aside from the area that seems to be the equivalent of the Asgard Protected Planets. But what are the other two?
