The gameplay was fine, the problem was that everything else was pretty much first draft/iteration, because aside from some assets, it was all slapped together in 12-18 months.

It's basically a proper sendoff for the characters (it originally released post ME3 ending controversy), and is a ground level story, which the franchise is actually really good at, but doesn't focus on enough. And it's a big palette cleanser, because a lot of ME3 is very depressing and...

First of all, I would've fucking fired everyone who was bitching about getting tools and/or information from the Dragon Age team in Edmonton. Second, the aesthetic for the ancient alien technology is "Bismuth Up in This Bitch": Third, there's one, maybe two big ass open world maps. One of...

Well, it was the same dev team, just under previous management and leadership. That said, yes, they did waste horrific amounts of time trying to figure out what to make.

I mean, there's a 90% chance the game script is literally a first draft, because Mac Walters had to slap together a game in 12-18 months out of whatever the previous directors had actually gotten around to making. If the management on the production hadn't been utter shit, there probably...

That's because all the conflict in centered in the Initiative leadership. The lack of conflict among the crew makes sense, since they were trying to go for a lighter tone, but then they made the situation so dire that it kinda went against that whole idea... Sort of like Star Trek: Insurrection.

Well no, in the case of Left Alive, they completely dropped the ball and put out a shitty game. It doesn't help that with Front Mission, Square Enix doesn't just go "We can't make Front Mission anymore due to rights issues with the original IP owners," which is the main reason they're doing the...

Yeah, 99% of video games are a bad match for movies and a better match for TV. You could do a murder mystery show just set on the Citadel or Illium and never run out of stories until the Reaper War happens.

A show or movie would be fine if it wasn't really connected to the trilogy.

Man, people playing the LE as their first Mass Effect experience are going to miss out on the context for a lot of Ass Effect memes.

That's pretty much every remaster. They're supposed to be small budget projects to bring beloved games to newer platforms with some QOL improvements. If you give it a big team and budget, you might as well go full remake.

Yes, but only after a really obvious story mission. You cannot miss it, as it is very in your face.

You can't miss him, he's on a story mission map. You just have to remember to do his loyalty mission ASAP before you run into the timer pushing you to do the suicide mission.

No, it does, but it's more of an overarching one. Its sort of like the general "beat the Goa'uld" plot line that Stargate SG-1 had for most of its run: it's there in the background most of the time, possibly not relevant to a specific episode's story, but it takes over every so often. There's...

Liara is fine if she's just an Anderson level character, not a permanent party member. Have her be available to talk to from time to time at a major hub location like a Citadel equivalent, but not always around the main ship.

No, Wrex's voice actor is Steven Barr. What's funny about Mass Effect 2 is that Steve Blum's in a super obvious role early on, then in a way less obvious one, but there's at least one bad guy in a DLC party member loyalty mission that also kinda sounds like him, so I didn't peg the major role...
