    Battletech Welcome to the Jungle

Yeah, I didn't remember whether it was him or his father Richard Cameron I who Amaris was involved with. Richard died of a heart attack at age 45, which even today would be weird.

    Battletech Welcome to the Jungle

The Amaris family originated on Terra, moving out to the RWR shortly after an assassination attempt on a Cameron Director of the Terran Hegemony. Don't remember if it was successful. The head of the house got married to the then-ruler of the RWR, and somehow they left the rulership to Amaris...

Definitely the brand of missile launchers then. In that interlude, they were talking about taking the big LRM-20 racks out of the Longbow, and those were made by Holly.

Are you talking about the brand name for missile launchers?

I wonder if any of the things on the Catachan Core, like SL electronics, can hasten Katrina's Black Box project.

If you mean Weber, he wasn't supposed to have a great amount of BT knowledge from the SI. He did know Comstar was dodgy as hell, and something about Word of Blake, but almost certainly didn't have a) any hard details that could be verified b) any way of getting such details to responsible...

    Battletech Welcome to the Jungle

So Katrina has an embarrassment of riches in the Longbow's tactical slot, and thus luxury to go hunting for "better or best" over "good enough"?

    Battletech Welcome to the Jungle

There's about three years until that happens, and it may be that more and better armaments present in the LC discourages that. From memory, while they won, WD needed to do a resupply in Clanspace after that one - it was close even without foundtech proliferation. Don't get me wrong, I'm not a WD...

    Battletech Welcome to the Jungle

And WD haven't actually done their stint for LC yet. It'll happen in 3-4 years if this rolls like OTL. In canon, they only worked for the Steiners for two years, so having sweeteners for an extension is probably very useful.

One assumes that the LCAF have a specialist hostile environment infantry unit. They might be interested.

Well yeah, tourism's right out, but other diversification is needed. There will come a time when Catachan's factories are no longer unique and the shipping costs start taking hold. It might not be for decades, but sowing the seeds now is better. It will almost certainly remain a regional supply...

Move and counter move was my entire point, sorry if I was unclear. I was mostly trying to brainstorm counter moves to vertically mobile arty.

    Battletech Welcome to the Jungle

But see that's the point. If the flying blenders are covering the arty they're not covering the main force, and you can strike there. Do something to gain the initiative. Make them react to you, and harsh up their plans.

One supposes the short term counter is a dedicated ASF unit, or Kanga tanks if you have any. Another might be a vertically mobile unit with TAG, and coppertop rounds in your arty.

For an in universe reason why not, I bet the gyro calcs on that mod would be an impressive time sink.

Doesn't the LC make a stupid Chippewa variant? It is, after all, refit kit o'clock.

Are there still companies that operate in more than one nation? I could see that as an influence towards obeying copyright laws across borders.

Others had concluded the cache still existed, and although it was Grayson who found the actual location, it was from clues available to others, should they spend the time looking. The lucky strike you need to open the cache without it self destructing is a memory chip containing the open codes...

    Battletech Welcome to the Jungle

The existence of the Helm cache is independently discovered by both the Red Duke and Comstar, triggering the events surrounding the GDL. Whether or not the GDL are there, those events probably have not been butterflied away.

One of the other things to point out is that the Halstead collection at NAIS was multidisciplinary, while the Catachan core was manufacturing only. Granted that's very useful, but it has no medical data, as an example. And even then it was data relevant to what Amaris was doing on that specific...
