If the Confederacy wins the American Civil War, is the Union going to become revanchist over the next several decades and beyond?

An interesting analysis from one AH.com user on this topic: https://www.alternatehistory.com/forum/threads/the-usas-sudpolitik-revanchism-after-a-confederate-victory.195500/

Slavery didn't expand all that much as a result of Manifest Destiny. It was already legal in Texas and California was made a free state. The Kansas-Nebraska Act did more for the spread of slavery than Manifest Destiny did. But the US already controlled Kansas and Nebraska even before the 1840s...

Would Confederates have been cool with miscegenation with Mexicans? Because even in real life, the Southern US had anti-miscegenation laws until the 1960s. Here, they might actually survive until the 21st century. Seriously. Also, what specifically would result in slavery ending at the start of...

I'm actually surprised that the US wasn't exporting its industrial goods in huge numbers--or was it? By the way, how will the Confederacy's black, Native American, and Mexican populations be created over the long(er)-run in this TL? BTW, you might enjoy this lol ;):

If the Confederacy wins the American Civil War, is the Union going to become revanchist over the next several decades and beyond?

The ACW along with both World Wars show just how quickly an industrialized country can quickly create and field an extremely massive and powerful military in just several years.

Interesting; any idea which ones? Fellow Hapsburgs? Or at least other fellow Catholics?

Well, that could piss off Mexicans enough to spark a revolution, potentially, just like they actually did later on in 1910.

I suspect that after ten years of trying, if they weren't going to have an heir yet, it's unlikely that they were ever going to have an heir. A natural one, at least.

Mexican Emperor Max had a couple of adopted children just for this purpose (succession), no?

If the Confederacy wins the American Civil War, is the Union going to become revanchist over the next several decades and beyond?

One thing worth noting that I don't see mentioned here. In real life in the pre-WWI era (such as in this US map for 1900), the ex-Confederate parts of the US generally didn't get very many immigrants: If this pattern will be the same as in real life, then the Union's population advantage over...

Even if a lot of Confederate slaves are going to be fleeing up north after escaping?

So, they'll accept it as easily as the UK previously accepted the US's secession?

If the Confederacy wins the American Civil War, is the Union going to become revanchist over the next several decades and beyond? In other words, being similar to post-1991 Russia and fantasizing about regathering its lost territories, if necessary, by force? Would the issue of escaped...
