    Thoughts on this one, @Zyobot?

    What If? Interesting ASB Elections

I suspect that Dukakis should win here due to the changed composition of the US electorate in 2016 relative to 1988 and also because the GOP base was fed up with Bushist cuckservatism by 2016.

Huh, you're right: And Yep, completely agreed about a lot of crossover voting here.

    What If? Interesting ASB Elections

Where exactly did I say that Ford was pro-gay marriage? I was talking about Carter here, no? Ford died before gay marriage became too popular. And Yeah, 1996 Clinton does sound like a Republican. In this regard, perhaps even 1976 Ford could sound more appealing to Democrats on things like the...

    What If? Interesting ASB Elections

Oh, Yeah, Bill Clinton is likely going to get #MeToo'd as well! But I suspect that he'd still win. He might get some GOP immigration hawks to vote for him, especially considering that Ford admitted Vietnamese refugees into the US in huge numbers. Though Vietnamese refugees are relatively...

    What If? Interesting ASB Elections

Both would be denounced as viscerally homophobic, et cetera, no doubt, but still, I think that Clinton would win since the GOP base would be depressed even more due to Ford being pro-choice. Still, it's going to be record-low turnout either way since a lot of Democrats aren't going to like the...

    What If? Interesting ASB Elections

On same-sex marriage, Carter could claim that he had a "Come to Jesus" moment. Abortion could be a bit harder since Carter is a devout Christian. Agreed that it will not be a landslide for Carter. 'Samuel Tilden (1876) vs. Zachary Taylor (1848)'

    What If? Interesting ASB Elections

What about increasing airport security and doing racial profiling of anyone who looked Middle Eastern? AFAIK, Bush opposed racial profiling because it was racist, but the question that should have been asked was whether there was any equally effective alternative to racial profiling.

    What If? Interesting ASB Elections

I think that Bush will, you know, get blame for failing to prevent 9/11 itself as well as for dragging the country into two foreign wars which the US got little out of. Carter at least didn't drag us into any foreign wars, though he was rather ineffectual in regards to the Iran hostage crisis...

    What If? Interesting ASB Elections

Both would be denounced as vehemently homophobic bigots, though I suppose the fact that Dick Cheney's daughter is gay should help Bush a bit if he's actually willing to acknowledge it. I suspect that Carter will be able to hold onto more of his base relative to Bush, though. Nowadays, I suspect...

    What If? Interesting ASB Elections

With a modern electorate, Mondale should win since Goldwater is nowhere near Woke enough.

    What If? Interesting ASB Elections

Mondale wins in a landslide with the 1964 electorate. With the 1984 electorate, much tougher call. I suspect that Goldwater would win, but if he sticks to his previous position on the 1964 Civil Rights Act (he opposed it), then his victory in 1984 should be much narrower than Reagan's was.

Maybe; not sure. And Yes, Yes, he would.

    What If? Interesting ASB Elections

I made my prediction based on the 1952 or even 1972 electorate. Based on the current electorate, McGovern should perform much better, especially due to the much higher minority percentage among the US population nowadays. I would expect McGovern to get maybe 150-200 electoral votes with the...

    What If? Interesting ASB Elections

Taft wins, especially if he doesn't openly repudiate NATO. Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if Taft will win in an extremely massive landslide just like Nixon did in real life.

    What If? Interesting ASB Elections

Yeah, we're dealing with a modern electorate, with you being able to pick the year. Anyway: 'Benjamin Harrison (1888/1892) vs. Donald Trump (2016/2020)'

Yeah, right after being shot, he said "I don't know if you have realized that I have just been shot, but it takes more than that to kill a Bull Moose!" :D

Trump can also discuss about the lack of success of the Great Society program in permanently uplifting non-Asian US minorities. Anyway: 'Theodore Roosevelt (1904/1912) vs. Franklin Roosevelt (1932/1936/1940/1944)'
