But the Bush reputation will take a hit if Bush loses in 2000. He's not Trump. And the 2000 election won't be anywhere near as close in this TL.

Not too much differently from Clinton, IMHO. But I do wonder if 9/11 still happens on his watch. Gore will almost certainly get reelected in 2000 in this TL. If 9/11 still occurs, does Gore still invade Afghanistan, let alone Iraq? Or does he aim for a more limited military operation against...
