    The absurdity of your optimism in spite of previous examples was so great, I couldn't help but laugh. I have no hopes for that series and would rather talk about the stuff Tolkien penned.

    In a way, it's tragic. They have nothing. Their ancestors have no myths and legends to tell save that they lost a war and were enslaved. So they try to take the stories of others just to have anything at all. It does not excuse them.
