Yeah...Rey could have been written a lot better, but I'd date her anyway. At least she was actually kind of likable (YMMV of course) in spite of being a Mary Sue and not obnoxious like some other current female characters in pop culture... "Ducks the incoming blaster fire."

I just feel bad for the whole cast and crew involved...they had a whole roster of talented actors and technicians, and I was even excited for the newcomers like John Boyega and Daisy Ridley, but the whole mess has likely left them all with a bitter taste in their mouths. It's even sadder when...

If we're lucky we might also see Mara Jade? I mean, you want Star Wars "girl power", she was an excellent fleshed out character that came out long before Kathleen Kennedy's pet Mary Sue Rey came along. And BTW....I don't actually hate Rey as much as some do....just wish she had been given...

One can only imagine how comic book nerds would have reacted if Disney had taken this approach to their comics. They'd probably be burning effigies of the Mouse, among other things.

And now, even though I admittedly am not as great a Star Wars fan as some, I find it bittersweet to be looking back at all the lovely ship, weapon and technical designs that came out by both Lucasfilm and the many more spawned by writers, fans, etc. And little if any of this got incorporated...
