It's not necessarily that West Texas is more conservative than East Texas, it's simply that there aren't really any large urban centers that pull things blue. Almost all of that is located in central and East Texas. Yup, history is really freaky.

I believe he's saying that Hollywood believes they are the only real source of entertainment and there is nothing else out there. So we have to watch what they produce and smile and thank them for whatever they want to shove in our faces. ;)

I'm avoiding all the talk of this movie simply because I'll be taking my son to see it. Though emasculating the bard is a pretty regular occurrence in D&D games. to be honest. Mostly because it's fun for the rest of the group.
