She certainly hasn't let me down so far, and compared to the intel I3 I was using before her, she's a monster. XD

Eyyyyyyyyyyyyy! A fellow 3600 bro! I slapped a big fuckoff cooler onto mine, lets her turbo-mode forever without overheating.

Why get a mini PC? If you want something beefy, get something big. If you want something portable, get a laptop.

Grey Goo is kinda crap, and Extermination isn't even out yet. But Terran Command is a perfectly acceptable if...Really underwhelming RTS.

He got some pretty good advice though, hopefully he ends up with a good and affordable rig.

Are you trying to be argumentative for argument sake? Simple electronics, heat equals higher electrical resistance. There's a reason why we don't like running electronics at 100 degrees, it's because A: It makes them eat up more power, that's bad B: It means said power you're forcing into them...

Temperature requires higher power to keep performance, which makes higher voltage which kills the chip though. Unless you're doing something terribly wrong, you're not going to blast a chip which is at a cozy 40 degrees.

At comically low settings, upscaled lmao. PS5 runs modern games at settings a normal PC user would find to be intolerable.

NPC's certainly do touch the GPU lmao, more polygons, more textures, effects, etc. Typically NPC's are more detailed than environmental features because you'll be seeing them up close, and they're more elaborate models. My best guesses are next gen games will be even more unoptimized messes...

A state of the art GPU costing something like 2-3 PS5's combined should not be going sub 100fps with a silly harry potter game. Sub-100fps with some monster tech demo game with absurd effects and dozens of NPC's doing stuff at the same time? Sure. But harry potter game?... Without raytracing...

1440p+ Although it depends on the game in question, and flipping the settings to medium lets you run these games on some pretty average hardware. The issue is that nowadays games hardly look better than games 5+ years older, but require several times the computing power for no mechanical gain...

My dude right now games are so unoptimized that even beefy monsters like 4080's can't go ultra 60fps with all the bells and whistles. Unless OP wants to spend a comical amount of cash, futuregames are not an option. I've basically given up on 'modern' pc games for this reason.

That parts themselves won't get too hot, but that heat ends up trapped in the case unless there's enough ventilation. Also in hindsight if OP doesn't know what computer to buy he probably has no clue about fan curves.

More fans=run them at lower RPM=less noise Sure you're unlikely to overheat the thing, but it's going to sound pretty loud when they rev up to high speed.

My dude, that build only has 2 inbuilt case fans. That's like spending 80 grand on a new car and it has wallmart tires.
