    I loved his Book of Swords series; well, the first two at least. The third was something of a let down (especially the ending; so many inconsistencies and dropped plot threads), and the Books of Lost Swords sequels were even worse.

    Again, I'm against increasing the commitment. If you think a short story is good enough, you can submit it as your suggestion for the month. Or you can do as Bear Ribs suggests, and go with a collection of short stories that contains it.

    I'm against it, personally; I'd rather the commitment was kept to just one book a month. Because while I could handle more, I also have other things I want to spent my time on as well.

    I'm sticking with Illusion. Which honestly? I was kinda worried when I first suggested it that it might not be as good as I remember, but I seriously doubt it's going to be anywhere near as bad as Jake's Magical Market.

    The breaking point for me was when he After reading that, I realized that the only thing that mattered to the author when writing this story was the cards; everything else is little more than window dressing.

    In this particular case, there is no paperback alternative available. In general though? Hardcovers are more durable; or were you asking in comparison to digital?

    Both eBay and Amazon have a number of used paperback copies for around six bucks; which isn't that much more expensive than a digital copy of Jake's Magical Market.
