The ol' 'Rona - got sick? Got vaccinated? Tell us!

This is incorrect. It is important to understand that there is no *one* "PCR test for COVID"; PCR is a widely used genetics lab technique* which is used for many purposes. Even in the specific context of COVID, there are many different PCR tests used. The test that the CDC is withdrawing is the...

If you're coughing and suffering chills it's much more likely that you simply caught a cold while your system was weakened by the vaccine -- it's not a live virus vaccine, so it should indeed be impossible for you to catch an actual case from the vaccine itself, and the vaccine doesn't contain...

The ol' 'Rona - got sick? Got vaccinated? Tell us!

For the record, I personally know at least one person who is dying what can only be described as a slow and horrible death from long-term complications of COVID. Prior to catching COVID, they were young and in generally good health, with a couple of long term issues that were mild and completely...

Adults 65 years and older who were fully vaccinated with either Pfizer or Moderna were found to be 94% less likely to be hospitalized with COVID-19 than people of the same age group who were unvaccinated. Also, real-world results in Israel showed that full vaccination with Pfizer cut...

That's the fundamental concept behind the old-school method of synthesizing vaccines, yes. Unfortunately, developing a safe and viable vaccine by this method is a very slow process of trial and error; modern genetic engineering based vaccine development techniques are faster, more reliable, and...

The magnetism does not make any sense. The total amount of the injection is 0.3 ml; that's not enough to produce that kind of magnetism even if they were injecting you with X-Men-style liquid iron.

I dunno about microchips, but my Oculus VR headset was suddenly one of the first to get the new v29 upgrade, where I was in one of the last rounds for every previous update. Clearly, I'm getting bonus points for being a loyal corporate drone.

I got my second Pfizer shot this morning, and am happy to report that side effects were *even less* than the already minimal ones I got from the first shot. Just a little bit of tiredness and a barely perceptible amount of muscle soreness at the injection site.

Thus far, observed side effects from vaccine (Pfizer) were minor muscle ache and weakness at injection site, plus subtle but significant general fatigue. As of ~24 hours later, only remaining symptom is minor muscle ache, primarily if muscle is tensed. Edit: Side effects completely subsided...

Just got my first dose. So far the only side effect I'm feeling is very minor soreness in that arm.

That's interesting; the flu has generally hit me for about two weeks, and is vastly milder than what my friends experienced with the COVID.

Two of my close friends survived COVID. They said symptoms were comparable to severe flu, only dragged out for about a month; not life threatening, but very, very nasty even with generous sick leave so they weren't in financial trouble. I just got my scheduling e-mail for the vaccine.
