You're right, there is a high suicide rate among people who've had the surgery. This suicide rate is also lower than in the same demographic, but for people who have not had surgery.
When has that ever demonstrably happened?
Well I tend to disagree with inherent duty as a concept. Nobody is owed anything from or by me, period. Anything they get is at my sole discretion and whim.
Does that even happen?
I mean the argument in favor of doing it that way is that you end up with much better results in the end.
The most high profile case I can think of is Kim Petras and as far as I know she doesn't regret the decision.
