    Would Asia/the world of the twentieth century have been better off if Japan lost the Russo-Japan War, was stalemated, or deterred from attacking?

    I think it would have left the Japanese fuming at their defeat and I reckon that even with the Entente the British would keep supporting them financially as counterweight to Russian expansion in China and there would be a revenge war somewhere down the line, if Russia collapses in 1917 as OTL...
