    I wouldn't call early 40k a parody so much as a ramshackle mixture of various science-fiction and fantasy works in British pop-culture at the time, so much as D&D was a ramshackle mixture of various high-fantasy and sword-and-sorcery works - and nobody calls D&D a parody!

    I can remember browsing it in the interests of morbid curiosity to see that one of their members posted an idea for a "good version" of the Dark Eldar which boiled down to "the exact same as in canon, but they only do what they do to privileged members of Imperial society".

    Ironically China is the closest equivalent today to the old-style fascist regimes of the 30s. Also, its lulzworthy how they're openly taking a stand in favour of a real tyrannical oppressive regime when they probably consider people liking the Imperium to be proof that they're fascist.
