What screams "the author didn't think of the implications"?

Coherency and canon is White Supremacy. The Writers by ignoring all of that are striking a blow against White Supremacy and the Patriarchy 😡

What screams "the author didn't think of the implications"?

@Shipmaster Sane Actually I realize that this convo between us is pointless so have the last word ship. I'm moving on.

What screams "the author didn't think of the implications"?

The people I mention don't care for anime. The just like doing murderhobo adventures of travelling from town to town finding whatever job is available and doing it. No guild. What are we even discussing here at this point? GS or just generic fantasy? It's not impossible that what you mention...

What screams "the author didn't think of the implications"?

Goblins live in the wilds which may also have creatures more fearsome the goblins, likely they get eaten or killed by some of the creatures?

What screams "the author didn't think of the implications"?

Yes. Forget about the goblins, you could have rampaging orks or giants, etc. I could go on. This is an issue with a lot of the fantasy genre.

What screams "the author didn't think of the implications"?

Yes. But you make the mistake that this is a GS issue when its more a DnD inspired fantasy or Dragon Quest inspired fantasy issue. Read the below. It explains the issue but replace Goblins with any monster that can attack and ruin villages. You have monsters running around in the wild, some...

What screams "the author didn't think of the implications"?

Well I found this on quora once that I saved cause I found it interesting: A guy answered in the interview when he was put forward with the question "Why do you want to join Indian Army as an officer?" His reply was "Sir, officeron ki biwiyan bahut khubsoorat hoti he." Meaning the wives of...

What screams "the author didn't think of the implications"?

Its self explanatory. I said that you are pushing this idea that all DnD campaigns is military ones with military mercenary companies when not all are like that and some are just random hobbos working together to get rich and traveling from city to city or town for said jobs. Your position is...

What screams "the author didn't think of the implications"?

Likely all national shit aka coming from King or Nobles or them just doing whatever they want. They are the powerful people after all. Thats my point. Its not all bounty boards. I can honestly see bounty boards as the guild having these host of jobs and leaving it to adventurers to take...

What screams "the author didn't think of the implications"?

No. Its not the same. Ships point was about bounty boards. Going through the Guild Bureaucracy was simply having them tell him that someone wanted him for a job. The Sword Maiden could have sent someone to fetch him but why bother when she can have the organization he is part of do it for her...

What screams "the author didn't think of the implications"?

Loli? She is flat-chested and she gave the impression that she was either a teenager so she still thought in terms of fun, For rest of the adventurers, its a job. As for why do it? Glory and wealth I supposed? I mean I head of DnD campaigns which were supposed to transition where the players...

What screams "the author didn't think of the implications"?

Fair enough. Though you are seeming to paint a picture that all DnD adventures are military adventures by military organizations when what I have seen is some people get together who can fight for whatever reason and go on adventures to get rich. As for the bounty boards? Well in GS, they are...

What screams "the author didn't think of the implications"?

I find that people unironically take on the MC of GS pov into their own of the Goblins are dangerous and must be destroyed. The Goblins are of so little concern that most of the armies and big name heroes are off to fight off the demon lord aka standard medieval fantasy of OP heroes vs OP...

What screams "the author didn't think of the implications"?

They still acted like a sacking army would have. Granted not all went to that extent but of course it depends. I believe its handwaved by ASOIAF land having a large population cause the land is so big and all.

What screams "the author didn't think of the implications"?

ASOIAF is absurd generally. Bloodlines lasting thousands of years apparently and yet wiped out very quickly when convenient.

What screams "the author didn't think of the implications"?

That pretty much sounds like just like standard generic medieval fantasy anime. The adventurers are mercenaries but not in companies, either just individuals or small groups who get stronger as they level up. The Adventurers guild exists for people to apply for mercenaries to do stuff they want.

What screams "the author didn't think of the implications"?

A lot of the time, cities in the older ages got sacked after they got conquered. How bad the sack was depends of course. Nothing you mention is unusual and has happened in our world and yet the world kept spinning. Hell, there is talk of how the Russians when invading Germany during WW2 mass...

What screams "the author didn't think of the implications"?

I believe said poster means that reliable contraception changed the world and sexual mores so ASOIAF should also have such changes.

What screams "the author didn't think of the implications"?

Isn't DnD basically adventurers going around doing jobs for money that end up with them even saving the world or town or village? At least thats how I have seen some games played.
