What if Austria occupied, and annexed, Bosnia earlier in the 19th century - would it save trouble compared to OTL, or bring it earlier?
From the way you laid it out, it seems the earlier the better for the Austrians to incorporate Bosnia into the Austrian Empire even if in the 1830's it was a Muslim landowning elite that was the main drive of anti-Ottoman resistance over the latters more liberal reforms.
