Amazon Prime Rings of Power: Lord of the Rings on Amazon

The last I heard was that they had cast Gavi Singh Chera in the role. Those rumors are barely 3 weeks old. *shrugs*

Amazon Prime Rings of Power: Lord of the Rings on Amazon

They (Amazon Studois) recently laid off around 750 people, IIRC, and already had killed off a slew of shows to make up for the costs and failed RoI from Rings of Power. With Indian Sauron and the utterly lacklustre (and justified) reception of the first season -- only 37% of viewers who started...

Amazon Prime Rings of Power: Lord of the Rings on Amazon

They are fun games that straddle close enough to canon to give you the feeling of acting the LOTR universe. They never claimed to be hard canon. People also would only be half as mad with RoP if it did the same, I'd say.

Amazon Prime Rings of Power: Lord of the Rings on Amazon

Ough, it was even more "in your face" in Amazon's Wheel of Time.

Amazon Prime Rings of Power: Lord of the Rings on Amazon

Well, why has the Iranian healer a Filipino son? Why are there Asian and black people in the rural secluded villages of the Southlands (🙄)? Amazon Prime Rings of Power: Lord of the Rings on Amazon

Reviews so far seem to be a mixed bag, with many 4 out of 5 star reviews contrasted by absolute beatings handed out by the Daily Mail and a few others. Can't google it all right now since I'm at work...

Here's the vid with the "influencers" from all the main countries. It's painfully obvious it's all choreographed.

Amazon Prime Rings of Power: Lord of the Rings on Amazon

A YouTuber called disparu has made a compilation of that cringe influencer/superfans video. Apparently Amazon choreographed the very same thing for all its major markets. Can't link since I'm on mobile, but just search for his name. He's also pretty entertaining, so I can recommend him.

Amazon Prime Rings of Power: Lord of the Rings on Amazon

Yeah, that was... something. When did we regress so much as a society that we apparently only can enjoy entertainment when it shows people that are exactly like us?

Amazon Prime Rings of Power: Lord of the Rings on Amazon

Did anyone see that cringe superfans video? Jesus Christ, it's diversity, diversity, diversity...

Amazon Prime Rings of Power: Lord of the Rings on Amazon

So it's about the same kind of bought 'legitimate' fan support as with The Wheel of Time, only bigger.

You know what? Thank you, Amazon. Never has it been made easier for me to not watch something.
