    The biggest flaw of your argument is that they bugs in the movies do actually inhabit a fairly large section of space. That means they clearly do have a form of space travel and colonization.

    They were literally launching meteors at earth and other planets its made clear in the first movie that they do that. FTL is never actually clarified for either side so we have no choice but to assume both sides are capable of it.

    They actually do have that ability and its described as to how they do it and its part of their colonization process. At best they are animalistic and a highly lethal invasive species but as the later movies show they intentionally do this.
