My intent when I started this thread was simply to discuss anime that anime fans found to be infamous, because while I know of a few of them, I was hoping some people might bring ones up that I might not know about.

Did they pay an anime studio to make it, or did they make it themselves?

If it amounted to them funding a studio, like Cartoon Network did for season 2 of The Big O, but not for making their own production.

Well, really, even if they'd managed to make something good, the entire rationale behind the site was supposed to be online streaming in a way they (allegedly) directly supported the anime industry. So all that money was supposed to go toward licensing anime anyway, not making their own production.

I was thinking more along the lines of something that the fandom considers not only to be bad, but might have a reputation for being potentially gross or some other reason. I've always heard of M.D. Geist and Violence Jack talked about in that light, as a couple of examples.

So what animes would people here consider to be particularly infamous?
