I'm of the opinion that it's significantly improved. I feel it flows much better with Heather getting a mild punch in the hormones when Jason saves her and beats a murderer down, rather than her spontaneously deciding to appreciate his muscles several times in a row.

The different perspectives and how they play off each other by misunderstanding each other's motivations and actions is probably my favorite part of this story.

I mostly enjoyed this chapter. I was interested to see how it was going to veer off canon without Gwen given she was in the star role in the OTL, and it didn't disappoint. The joke about the blood at the end got a chuckle. I do think Heather started falling for Jason way too fast, there were...

Of the show's women I see happening I'd say: 1: Gwen has the most conversations and seems the closest to him. 2: Runner up is Eva who loses to Gwen entirely because her attraction is mainly to his strength and she doesn't have the emotional connection. 3: He's had a few moments with Izzy but...

It's interesting that Izzy of all characters is apparently running some kind of scheme. Then again it's Izzy and she doesn't think like everybody else, it's plausible she actually thinks she helping Heather with her words.

Well remember that it wasn't just the diary that sank Beth, it was also taking the cursed idol from Boney Island she set on the diary, and Beth may well consider the idol more important to her voting off and not put as much weight on the diary.

It seems reasonable to me that it could go either way and depends on where you take the story. If Beth knows Heather both stole the diary and got her voted off, she's probably going to tell everybody to get even and knowing she did something that mean will most likely end Heather immediately as...

Also remember Beth's not the brightest of biscuits so unless she outright sees footage of Heather stealing the diary/throwing the diary out the window/confessing she may not put two and two together.

Does Beth actually know that Heather stole the diary? I know Heather used Beth as her fallgirl but I don't have the impression Beth has a clue. So her showing up won't sink Heather but will re-open Gwen's quest to determine who stole her diary once she knows Beth merely found it, leading to...

Throwing my vote for Beth, as the Drama of her "stealing" Gwen's diary wasn't fully resolved and I think it has potential to produce more.

Courtney is also, as she reminds everybody, a camp counselor in training. That's probably clouding her judgement something fierce, anybody who's taken care of a group of kids has probably seen a 12-year old boy deliberately grossing out a girl he likes, or alternately a little girl bullying...

One thing I appreciate in this story is that Heather is much more believably holding her own. In the OTL she failed at everything for something like ten episodes, lost every challenge, and somehow just never got voted off for it. This time around she's doing much better holding her alliance...

That is one heck of a shakeup given where Owen canonically ended. This episode bugged me a bit because I would think the challenges of, well, mostly standing there in various uncomfortable ways, would be really boring for watchers on TV.
