Yeah, PoP did have some wierd acrobatics, for the time the game was kinda fun, but exactly that stupid acrobatics made it annoying. I am asking when it became so popular that even shooters from long-running established series have to have it.

When and how did this nonsense become a thing exactly? I remember there was some of that stuff in Warframe, but didn't see it much since I played that. Then this year, first I had it endure it in Necromunda: Hired gun, and now Shadow Warrior 3 I mean, this is total nonsense.
