Swapping the Gender or Race of a Character in Fiction

Um, what tumblr post? Second, sure you can reject it, but saying it's definitionally not flawed means one is using the definition of it, and the artstyle is all about how it is flawed. So no, you still come across as an idiot here. No, I literally just listed a number of problems with the...

Swapping the Gender or Race of a Character in Fiction

Someone didn't read much about this. It's part of a whole japanese philosophy called wabi-sabi, or the embracing of the flawed or imperfect. Sounds like a flaw to me. More, the general idea is just because something is different doesn't make it bad. Fanfic can be better than the original as...

Swapping the Gender or Race of a Character in Fiction

Not always. You can use what would be a flaw and make something better out of it. A classic example of this is the Japanese art of Kintsugi, which emphasizes the differences between the previously unbroken bowl, and the new, fixed bowl, and something beautiful results. If you play into it...

Swapping the Gender or Race of a Character in Fiction

I would also put out that sometimes there is a perfect actor for a particular character, that just is the wrong race, or less commonly gender. Usually this happens for non-established characters, but this can happen for established characters as well.

Again, there are good books that have a 'woke' message. I cited a bunch earlier in the thread. Te issue is when they write fiction to prove a political point instead of writing fiction with a political point. Unless you are very, very good, the first will not come out well.

I don't think they can do it to him though, as he's already a minority (though admittedly the woke don't give a shit about jews).

Magneto was kinda raceswapped already, he became jewish about 20 years afterwards. It was done really well to, as his survival of the holocaust spurred his take on mutants needing a separate homeland to be safe, like zionism for mutants.

The hormones and stuff aren't seemless, but it is their body and their choice.

A person who detransitions is publically saying I was wrong about being trans. That's not really Reee. And given that many people are transtrending, and not even pretending to half way physically transition, that means that they probably aren't. Shockingly, you need to do a little more than...

Those kinda explain themselves. Probably not actually trans in both cases. BTW, please cite a source on trans people being pedos.

Given that somehow 2/50 men in UK prisons suddenly became trans, and the number of transtrenders, I'm pretty confident most of these sudden converts aren't.

Honestly, I'm skeptical of the pedophile numbers. My guess is that a lot of straight men are just pretending to be trans to exploit children, and aren't actually trans themselves. Eh, there's a number of studies on this that get a number of different results. Kinsey's study, which happened in...

Swapping the Gender or Race of a Character in Fiction

This point is totally accurate, but I don't really expect perfection from a show from the 90's/early 00's. First, I think it's probably a good thing to show an abusive lesbian relationship, because abuse in the LGBT is very high (higher than straight couples). Second, it wasn't the sexuality...

Ironically, Loki ( or even Odin) being a woman actually works pretty well, given Norse Mythos. It's like the wokeness was trying to be bad, so it found the one person that it shouldn't genderbend, and went with that.

Swapping the Gender or Race of a Character in Fiction

This. My real problem with woke media isn't that it's woke, it's that it's crap. The only time I recall getting annoyed with a fictional show for politics (that wasn't shoved down my throat, I file that under bad writing) was Jack Ryan season 2, where they said the problem with Venezuela was...

Swapping the Gender or Race of a Character in Fiction

I think an interesting side part to this is making characters gay. It works much better than the swap, because you can do it and keep the story going. It could be a character discovering something about themselves, or a character who had no romantic relationships suddenly acquiring one. A...
