History The Responsibility of Emperor Hirohito and Japanese Apologies/Reparations for Crimes Against Humanity

I do recall reading that Hirohito did often try to push the Navy into making offensives against the Americans even when they were ill advised. I recall a source saying that Japan was actually preparing from Hirohito to be removed and various replacement candidates were being considered. And...

Today I found out that... the Sergeant York wasn't that bad...

By that logic, a hypothetical proximity fused 9mm explosive bullet would be a "major game-changer". When really at that point, the explosive content is too small to be useful. Now the 40mm may or may not have reached that point. But you have not presented much information that it is still...

Today I found out that... the Sergeant York wasn't that bad...

I know what a proximity fuse is. I'm saying that the kill radius for a 40mm shell explosive content might be too fucking small to be a major improvement in lethality. The fact there isn't any timed fused or new proximity fused shells in this size is also suggestive. You declaring it is still...

Today I found out that... the Sergeant York wasn't that bad...

But does the 40mm have enough explosive to make it worthwhile? And what of range? Is this just your personal opinion or you have other sources? Navweaps list .25 pounds explosive for the HEI round and these guns were meant as hit to kill so I'm little skeptical of your claim that they're a game...

Today I found out that... the Sergeant York wasn't that bad...

I'm skeptical it is that much of a difference considering how deadly they already are and that they don't seem widespread. And a 40mm shell would have fragments that would be as deadly. And AHEAD doesnt appear to be a proximity fuse, but a anti missile round that uses a canister like design.

Do we know how our ASF will likely fair?

Quest Deep Periphery Quest (Battletech Sandbox Empire Builder)

I don't think Angel Swanson is best for the Aeroforce. Since usage of such is inherent offensive, defending in a ASF means you got jumped. And since one of the main things we want them to be doing is attacking enemy ASF and Dropships, I think a more offensive oriented commander is better. A...

Alternate History World War III: 1988, aka "The War of '88"

Reading the link and the comment from Tyler, I'm skeptical it had actual practical value. Since an Aim 9M is relatively short range which may be close enough for it to be detected by the Soviet AWACS. It could of swing either way though.

Today I found out that... the Sergeant York wasn't that bad...

I'm pretty sure he is? That aside, the US Army did basically abandoned SHORAD after the Cold War, hence the sudden drive to replace that capability as seen in articles like this one. There might of been some older Avenger in limited numbers still, but is something I feel is really limited by the...

Today I found out that... the Sergeant York wasn't that bad...

Roland entered French service in 1977, the same year that Americans got them so not exactly something I consider mature yet. Nor is it a medium range missile, its a SHORAD missile like Rapier or Chapparel.

Tales of Yuzuriha, Courtesan and Adventurer (Goblin Slayer/Self Insert)

A little. I've read Vol 2 but stalled out about a 1/3 into Vol 3. I've been going back and skimming over Vol 1(originally just read manga for this arc) to catch the favor text that I missed. That aside, I'm familiar that the setting is more than the dark fantasy that Goblin Slayer the character...

Tales of Yuzuriha, Courtesan and Adventurer (Goblin Slayer/Self Insert)

Normally, when a person gets sent off to another world, there is usually a bit of time to get acquainted with the new circumstances of that world. Not always, but is common practice if only to help introduce readers to the world along with the protagonist. A short period of time where they can...
