    Battletech Welcome to the Jungle

The expense is part of it, but heat management, the ammo bomb, and thin head armor also play a part. A normal ac10 will headshot a phoenix hawkfrom full. Now I do think the phoenix hawk is one of the better intro tech mediums but its also one of the mechs to suffer the most from wanting...

    Battletech Welcome to the Jungle

There is also the question on if they would divert 270 production away from the Phoenix Hawk. Despite its flaws its a great medium mech and scout hunter

No its better for the enemy to find out for you. Then thank them by putting them out of their misery

Not so sure the lyran Commonwealth's biggest need is another heavy factory. They need a solid light more.

What about a 240 xfl and double heat sinks in a rifleman for aa?

    Battletech Welcome to the Jungle

If you had the cash and it was out I would be partial to a wolfhound line. Assuming no 210 xfl, doing endo and fibro should allow for a 12th double heat sink for a er large and 4 medium lasers all while keeping all full armor. It even has the critical slotsfor all this. A xfl should allow for...

    Battletech Welcome to the Jungle

I see it as a combination of three factors in cannon, the dragon having a private reserve for dealing with uppity warlords, surging their factories, and comstar. Comstar likes the state of affairs and has the largest not committed mech force out there. They are also willing to tip the scales.

    Battletech Welcome to the Jungle

There is also the issue of the dragon favoring light mechs, aka dinner, and tanks/ infantry being of limited use outside the hold fast or mines. Catchan is a death world and even battlemechs are on the menu.

The combine could take carachan. Granted pulling together the forces to do so would be noticeable and their losses i suspect stupidly high. Any of the great houses have the numbers to take any one world they want problem is cost. For it to be worth the effort the dragon has to take carachan...

    Battletech Welcome to the Jungle

Comstar getting their foot in the door is almost a given. As for Comstar being ID'd as the thieves that got the goods, well I can dream but they are actually very good at the cloak and dagger thing and frameing the other houses. Unless someone finds the data core with HPG 101 the LC still need...

    Battletech Welcome to the Jungle

If I am reading this right Comstar got a partial copy of the core and is feeding it to the other houses? Well it was bound to happen and Comstar was the most likely to pull it off.

DHS seem to me to be a no brainer they are simply to good of a force multiplier not to include as for the XL engine does CAC make the right size?

If they can fix the production value of the Gauss line that might work. Problem is most of CAC ERPPC production is spoken for and building a new line is not cheep and the Gauss Line is a bit of a lemon at the moment. Now if it is a gravity issue then moving the line to another line planet...

    Battletech Welcome to the Jungle

Such as not magically blow up/catch fire/melt the pilot if someone within 100 meters of the cockpit even thinks of pulling the Alpha Strike trigger? That and point out that she is willing to drop a ASF (the Lucifier) if better options come out in great enough numbers? Do we have any word on...

Fair enough. Your not wrong about the Rifleman its just I am not sure how to fix it without adding tonnage or striping one set of its primary weapons.
  16. S

    Battletech Welcome to the Jungle

to be fair the Rifleman was never suppose to brawl. it was meant for direct fire support and to make things that fly have a very bad day. That and it looses a lot of tonnage with its primary guns. Its a 60 ton mech with both large lasers and 2 ac5s, that is a lot of gun for the tonnage you...

    Battletech Welcome to the Jungle

Incorrect CAC has a Deal with Olivetti to stay out of heavies and medium mechs respectfully. Weber has a agreement in priceable to license his Banshee Variant to Defiance (and possible to produce xlfe 380's to teach Defiance Techs) but more negotiations are to fallow on it. Now the Hatchetman...

    Battletech Welcome to the Jungle

Seems odd to turn a fire support mech into a direct fire mech but a assault weight flying Rifleman is a interesting take. Quick question I am not seeing the base Longbow being that much a upgrade to something like a Archer. A LRM 50 to the LRM 40 and the Archer actually has a secondary battery...

    Battletech Welcome to the Jungle

I though you were replacing the ac 5 with a Lb 5x. Correct me if I am wrong but do they not weigh the same? not slapping on another set of ballistics. Pull the Large Lasers for more dakka and keep the heat down? keeping the ML for last ditch self defense? Issue with the Rifleman is 2 LL 2...

    Battletech Welcome to the Jungle

Probably LBX-5 as fitting in a pair of bigger guns with everything else the (improved) Rifleman wants to use might be hard. From what I know of the Rifleman its big weaknesses are heat and armor. Heat might solve itself with the Double heat sinks. Armor might be tricky as you only have so...
