Breaking News Francis Scott Key Bridge Collapses

Seems that there's a deluge of copy-paste and AI generated tweets pushing the conspiracy theory that the ship took an intentional turn toward the bridge. Which is obviously BS to anyone that knows anything about ships: if a ship doesn't have power for their lights, they definitely don't have any...

Seems you forgot to Threadmark the latest chapter @Seras

Got into Owlcat's new release, Warhammer 40,000: Rogue Trader. Despite a bunch of little funny bugs on launch, like t-posing servitors in the background, the experience has been great. The plot, the characters, the combat, the BGM and sound design, all very solid. The only major complaint I have...

I've been playing Book of Hours quite a lot since it released. Exploring all the lore hidden away in the game is really quite fun. And despite the literal 2d artstyle, the game is incredibly immersive between the music and other background ambience, the visuals and the lore itself. But it is...

    What are you playing currently?

Oh sure. I didn't mean to imply it was just a bad game. I'm just too much of a casual to enjoy a game like that long-term. I did have a fair bit of fun poking around and getting my Chapter wiped out or at war with everyone (including the Imperium) within the first twenty turns for about twenty...

Do you mean that Interstellar Army Simulator game that's barely functional unless you install the totally third-party 40k mod to get around legal issues with GW? It's... comprehensive in its depth and it's brutally difficult to keep track of everything. It's a great autist game, but having to...

Been on a 40k binge lately as well. Got back into the 40k/Rosigma mod for OpenXCom Extended. Even playing as the Space Marines, it's not really a power fantasy. It's a demonstration of just how brutal warfare is in the 40k universe.

The RWBY Fanfic Ideas, Recs and Discussion thread

So, this is from three years ago, and the RWBY canon is still chugging along with no clear conclusion in sight. Personally, I'm thinking it got turned into a zombie franchise. It's not ending, because the people in charge are now hellbent on dragging it on for as long as squeezing money out of...

A-10 Warthogs Being Sent to the Boneyard Again

I doubt an extension will happen this time. The F-35 is finally entering service in numbers, and it's a far more capable aircraft, especially when it comes to precision strikes. The only redeeming quality of the A-10 in the CAS role were its loiter time and versatile bomb load, and it was still...

At the same time, as someone put it on SB: "Shit! Jotaro has a BD Recorder and he looked at Motoko". Granted, Motoko did have a face-covering mask. Hope that'll be enough.

I'll be honest, given that it was shown there was effort going into making it so Motoko isn't identifiable in the XBD, I thought that was all foreshadowing for how loose lips with friends (from both Nox and Motoko) are going to leak Motoko as the star of that XBD and cause trouble down the line.

Marvel Midnight Suns, The Marvel X-Com Style Tactical Game by Firaxis

Beyond the many, many obvious hooks for microtransactions in damn near every aspect of the "downtime" gameplay, the combat mechanics also seem to be tailor-made for console and mobile ports. It's like they're not even bothering to hide that the whole game was built from the ground up to be a...

Got back into X-Piratez, a (pretty lewd) total conversion mod for OpenXCom after having set it aside for a couple years. Still just as amazing, intricate and engaging as I remember it.

PC Gaming Terra Invicta general thread

In my experience, heatsinks are worse than worthless: dead mass and also wasting a utility slot. Hits to the front armor can't damage radiators anyway, and armoring the central segment of the ship isn't viable anyhow. If a ship is at risk of losing their radiator, it's likely in a position where...

A couple nukes directly on the Miltech 7 Armies won't destroy the world, and will destroy the armies.

Another good tip for the start, if you're a faction that doesn't want xenoflora spreading everywhere: Do a Surveil Area action on the Alien crash sites. And if your councilors say that they've reduced xenoflora but there's probably more, follow up with Surveil Area to find that "probably more"...

PC Gaming Terra Invicta general thread

Uncontrolled countries definitely do move their Armies when at war with other nations. Getting to see if "Undecided" countries will respond to Megafauna can be a bit trickier though: usually the big countries that have mobile armies are already under someone's control by the time Megafauna...

    Cyberpunk 2077

Probably the release of the Cyberpunk: Edgerunners anime on Netflix has a lot to do with it. I know it's the reason I bothered to boot up CP2077 for the first time in the past six months.

PC Gaming Terra Invicta general thread

Early Access has been announced. Launches on Steam and GOG on September 26. Also, a sizable dev diary was posted on the Pavonis Forums, where johnnylump explains in more detail what the EA is going to be like, and touches lightly on various aspects that they know are not finished yet.

PC Gaming Terra Invicta general thread

The developers posted a news update on Steam. Terra Invicta Demo is once again available on Steam. Still the same version used for NEXT Fest in June, so don't expect extra content or bugfixes. The team is focused on finishing the actual game, and the Demo definitely won't be updated before...
