But by the time you have 50-80% protection from the virus, people are simply going to stop obeying the requirements in large numbers.

What do you think will happen in jurisdictions where they try to keep the lockdowns going anyway, and crack down on people who disobey?

It'll go on until it's no longer politically feasible. If the leftists feel as though they're being oppressed by their leaders, they'll scream and riot until they get their way.
