I've always liked xenomorphs more, they're more psychologically terrifying, the way their pupa gestates inside of you, and the rest of its anatomy is just downright nasty

What's your favorite piece of Alien/Aliens media? :V

The only film featuring a xenomorph I truly dislike is AVP Requiem, just a god-awful fan-fiction take on xenomorphs. I just consider them a subspecies of xenomorph that the predators were breeding for their younger inductees to hunt and then it went sideways and results in an elder having to go in and clean up the mess, it's never confirmed one way or the other though. Take the Alien: Covenant commentary for instance, Ridley mentions that the xenomorph can "DNA back to parts" and regrow limbs, making it virtually indestructible. I think this makes up for it seemingly being able to be taken care of akin to an exceedingly dangerous wild animal CONT'D

, makes it seem more "Alien", and it fits with the canon quite well, we see the Facehugger in Alien exhibiting this ability when it heals over from the wound caused by Ash's laser, as if it had never been injured in the first place. It would also explain The Company's enduring fascination with the creature, and their desire to bio-weaponize it. What is strange to me are the "trendier" Alien fans that react so negatively to this. It's like, have we been watching the same films about the same creatures? Its entire persona as a sci-fi character revolves around its inherent lethality, anything that emphasizes this is being true to the originals' canon imo

Not to mention when you have extremophiles and things like tardigrades that exist within nature, and the xenomorph being based largely off of real life living creatures seen on earth

To be fair with the facehugger, it's not really super amazing that a creature features a blood-clotting/would-healing system. XD Plenty of Xenos seem to die just fine in Aliens.
I mostly like the two original films, they have the highest production values and kept the mystery, a mystery.

Oh sure, they are able to be neutralized with some effort in Aliens, we don't actually see any of them "die" though, I'm particularly thinking of the scene where Vasquez fires several shots into the Alien's head, and it was flailing around, it didn't kill it right then and there but I suppose it could've died later. I think the one that got the shotgun in the mouth probably died. I'm sure some of them died but even in the first encounter with the xenomorphs HALF of their squad got wiped out. Also one of the abilities Ripley 8 exhibits inheriting from the xenomorph is near-instant regeneration
