Movies The Hunt (Spoilers)

Honestly blown away that a movie like this could even be made in Hollywood. The basic premise is as follows

a group of liberal elites joke about a manor where they will hunt and kill deplorables, which is leaked in a text thread and then becomes a conspiracy theory where it is believed. All of them end up losing their jobs or being reassigned or asked to leave in the face of it, and they decide to carry out their fantasy of killing right wingers into reality. They find and sort through people who talked about them online, abduct them, and then hunt them and kill them. They do things like give them guns to mock them and their support of the second amendment, but it ends up backfiring and one of the victims ends up killing pretty much all of them. Overall a pretty decent, brutally violent, relatively comedic film.

Wasn't this made by Jordan Peele or somebody else? I think it's actually supposed to be satire and really, the Right Wingers they're killing ARE villains

Odds are they're revealed to be deserving of it anyway

That said, I thought the movie was cancelled

Literally everything you just said is wrong. Wrong director, they definitely aren’t the villains, literally all they did to “deserve it” as I posted was they commented online, and it’s not cancelled. Read a bit before you post.

Like just as a pretty funny scene in the film as the liberals are trawling through the thousands of pictures of people to kill debating which to pick they come across a black conservative and there’s a great bit where they discuss the optics and one says the have to include at least one person of color so as not to be racist, and another replies they should only kill white people.

There’s even one part where one guy is going on about refugees being crisis actors and then, in the movie, one of them is in fact a crisis actor as one of the elites, gets exposed, and has a grenade shoved down his pants.

Haven’t watched it still, can’t find it and can’t go outside but going by TvTropes, almost all the Conservatives being hunted down are depicted as deserving it except for two characters

Then again, not the first time they omit or lie on tvtropes pages, Caliphate by Tom Kratman did NOT forcibly immigrate people into the USA to the point Dinesh was a common name, it was voluntary and they were sorta pretty much “equal opportunity evil” or “civic nationalism” sorts

TV tropes is kind of wrong. Most of the hunted don’t really do anything to deserve it or make them that bad, like literally all they did to earn a spot is write mean things online. Some of them aren’t the most pleasant people but that’s about it.

Did they really shoot at refugees un-hesitantly though?

No. He points a gun at them and asks them to start talking and doesn’t believe they are real. Given the situation that’s kind of understandable. It’s also literally one dude, and he ends up being right about one of them. Several of the conservatives die while helping complete strangers they just met and did pretty much nothing to be unsympathetic. One of them is a ditzy blonde, one stops to help a random stranger and gets blown up for it, another tries his best to help a guy over a barb wire fence before dying.

TvTropes Page looks to really rely on people not actually having watched it

Also, man those conservatives were surprisingly nicer people than those Liberals were aiming for

I did remember one scene from the trailer months ago about asking what state it was

They make points like that, like one of the victims is married and is killed by a married liberal couple. The wife feels bad about it, starts seeing him as a human, and the husband justifies the killing by saying he probably uses the N-word. The end of the movie is the main liberal woman who’s the last left and loves the book Animal Farm dying as she finds common ground with the last conservative because both read the book. The liberal girl said things like “what people” because she doesn’t see them as people, and couldn’t even comprehend that the “uneducated deplorable rednecks” might have even read that book, and dying too late to realize yeah, that actually was a person. The overarching theme is political dehumanization.

Okay, man I really wonder then how that movie was even made in Hollywood

Also, looks to have low ratings

And sympathetic or not, I think some people may still take it as a call to justify killing Conservatives

Oh I’m sure they will, and it probably passed because one of them was relatively unpleasant.

Ben Shapiro did a Sunday Special interview with Jason Blum, the guy behind the Hunt, and they talk about it briefly. For what its worth Blum intended for it to take a piss at both sides of the political aisle.

Whenever I see talk about pissing on both sides, I’m pretty sure anybody on the Right is usually portrayed as an extremely bigoted idiot who ends up supporting big corporations over small ones and stuff

I guess this is a Vs.

The left propaganda movie the Hunt, the "Deplorables" aka conservatives are replaced by the Expendables. They also have thier weapons. They decide to Hunt the liberal elite in the movie hunting the "deplorables"

What happens?
Do the expendables survive?
Wait theres a movie where liberals hunt conservatives and this is considered... a good thing or a bad thing?

I think they tried "both sides"-ing it

Haven't been able to watch it, but TvTropes makes it out to be Gray&Gray or a "Lighter Shade of Black" as in making the Conservatives actual racists or bigots

Oh yeah, because being racist totally is worth a immediate death sentence, no trial or even questioning asked. [/s]
