Elana was the wild one starting out, but she was trained to rein things in.

Now? She has to do the same for Leia. Hoo boy...

Oh yeah. Although Elana's mistake was in allowing Leia to go off without a trustworthy advisor, which is what led to Leia getting baited into this. Mistakes all around, mostly due to youth and inexperience.

And Obi-Wan is probably watching from the Force and muttering about there being two Anakin's and that he really wishes he could get a drink while One With The Force. Because this requires some Corellian Whiskey.

The problem with having civilians in positions of command is that you can't court martial them when they deserve it, Leia is an idiot for doing this and her actions could get a lot of people killed and that fool Verlaine (who is military) should be locked up after this.

I like that the chemistry between Quinn and his lady is ramping up, its quite obvious to people that he's in love with her and the feeling may be very much mutual, maybe this close quarters in a cockpit for a while might allow walls to fall. Especially if they say... fall asleep part way there, I can image their reactions to waking up curled up in each other ;)

One thought: In legends the Alliance had at least one full sized Lucrehulk that carried 500+ X-Wings into battle against the Death Star, maybe they should take their new fabrication technology and put it on board one of those ships, the size means that a lot can be built at the same time and a lot of supplies loaded to allow them to be built. Just something to think on.

In the Disney canon (and credit where it's due, this was a good idea), the Alliance used a Lucrehulk as a mobile pilot training facility. It could easily be both a mobile flight school AND a fabrication facility for fighters.

(Also Hera Syndulla was the head instructor and commander of the starship, which was cool).

Sounds about right, a Lucrehulk is big enough to be multiple things at the same time, training school, construction plant, resupply base, refinery and defence station, honestly if anyone knows where a dozen or so may have been stashed away then need to go and find them. After all so many just shut down and drifted in space, there might be CIS versions of the Katana fleet out there, Legends also had entire ventators just abandoned and left to rot in deep space instead of being scrapped for some reason (probably to explain how they still existed in 137ABY).

Biggest issues for the Alliance Fleet are just in terms of logistics: Fuel, spare parts, and so on. They would have desperately needed mobile repair and fabrication facilities. The Alderaanian War Frigates having the tech to do that would make some sense, especially given the Another Chance, a fully automated War Frigate that carried all of Alderaan's most powerful weapons. The droids onboard would need some means of keeping the ship operational. So, they could have, essentially, the Star War equivalent of 3D printers, CNC machines, and lathes in one.

The X-Wing ride was short, and thankfully, Elana being Viceroy meant she didn't get asked many questions. Marcus just wouldn't stop fidgeting!

The situation was bad enough without a hot guy squirming underneath her!

A hot guy she did care for and trust and-

No. Stop that. Not the time. Quinn had brought the fighter in, landing in the Torhu's increasingly crowded hanger bay. There were still Z-95 Headhunters, mixed in with the newer X-Wings. The deck droids rolled up with a ladder, and Elana popped the cockpit canopy. She slid down the steps, and headed off towards her shuttle. Quinn followed behind, as efficient as usual even in his flight suit.

Her shuttle stood on the deck, all ready... With Tyra Lorr, Earnhart, and Luke Skywalker waiting in front of it. Along with a blue astromech droid.

"Going somewhere, My Lady?" Tyra asked.

"Yes, I am," she stated, "and you're going to handle the fleet in our absence. You're promoted to Lieutenant Commander, by the way."

Tyra raised her eyebrow.

"Is that a bribe-?"

"No, it isn't," Elana stated, going up into the cargo section of her shuttle. Quinn quickly followed as she closed the hatch behind them... Then quickly turned around as Elana began to strip down.

"Er, my Lady-"

"I'm not going to Naboo in my robes," she stated flatly. Quinn nodded quickly.

"Of-Of course-"

"And you? Are going to change into civvies," she stated. Quinn sighed.

"Then I will go and-"

River appeared in front of Quinn, holding out some clothing in a neat little pile. Quinn took them, eyebrow threatening to leap off his forehead.

"Thank you?"

"You're welcome!" She chirped, before she vanished again.

Elana finished changing. She brushed off her gear, and smiled as Quinn stood awkwardly in the cargo bay.

"So... How do I look?" Elana asked. Quinn turned around. He blinked as he looked her up and down.

Her swoop biking gear was... Well, even for an Alderaanian noble slumming it, she thought she looked good. Blue double breasted nerf leather jacket with red stripes down the sleeves, over a black shadowsilk turtleneck. Her pants were khaki, well worn and comfortable. Tall reddish black boots with straps on the side went up nearly to her knees. At her side was a blaster on her belt.

"It's... Quite becoming, My Lady," Quinn said, quickly averting his eyes. She undid her elaborate braids, and tucked her hair into a simple ponytail. She sighed heavily.

"Well, I hope I'm hot enough to distract, but not so hot to remember," she said with a grin. She opened the hatch, and looked out.

"It's okay!" Elana called. Earnhart came up, along with Tyra and Luke. "And?"

"You can't be serious, My Lady," Tyra tried, "you're going after the Princess to Naboo? The Emperor's homeworld?! The Imperial Blockade there will capture you, and kill you!"

"Not if we do things just right," Elana said, as Quinn went up into the cockpit to change, "Quinn and I can sneak in. He knows the codes and methods-"

"And I am very good at stealth flying," Quinn said, coming down in a white shirt, black jacket, and tan pants. He adjusted his gloves as Elana smirked.

"We can get inside and bring the Princess back. Not to mention that insufferable Lieutenant," Elana growled.

Tyra looked and glared at Earnhart.

"Master at Arms? Aren't you going to say something?"

Earnhart shook his head, his arms crossed over his armored chest.

"I tried talking her out of bed times: She wouldn't budge," he said. "Besides, if we can't handle our own internal issues, what good are we to anyone else?"

Tyra glared over at Quinn.

"Quinn? Are you serious?"

Quinn shrugged.

"I did swear my fealty to her, until death," he said.

Tyra sighed deeply, and then turned her glare over at Skywalker.

"And what are you standing here for?!"

Skywalker gestured to his little R2 unit, who beeped happily.

"Artoo's been to Naboo," he said, "and, well..." He shrugged.

"I have the feeling you'll need my help. Can't explain it, just..."

Elana smiled wryly.

"Just that there's a princess who might need saving? Again?" She asked.

"Maybe," Luke admitted with a bashful grin, "so?"

"Welcome aboard," she said. She looked over at Earnhart, and the still unhappy Lieutenant Commander.

"We'll be back," she said, "keep the fleet together until we return?"

"We will," Earnhart said. He squeezed Tyra's shoulder. The lieutenant commander scowled, but nodded. The two headed down the ramp. Luke headed up to the cockpit.

River was unstealthed, in the rear navigator's chair. She was running through the power up sequence. Quinn took his seat at the pilot's station, while Luke sat in the co-pilot's. Artoo rolled up to the cockpit, as Elana sat in the communication officer's station.

"Been a while since I've been to Naboo," River said conversationally.

"Save your stealth field generator, River," Elana ordered, "we're going to need to blend in."

"Fair enough," River admitted. Luke was already peeking back from the control console, clearly curious.

River undid her helmet, and pulled it off. Strawberry blonde hair fell like a waterfall from her head, as cat-like eyes, round cheeks, and ruby lips filled out a gorgeous face. She smirked over at Luke, who quickly looked back at the controls with a blush.

"Shuttle Convor, you are cleared for launch," the flight controller said, "shall I ask your destination?"

"Handling some private business, Master Chief," Elana said.

"Wha-My Lady?! I-!"

"Handling. Private. Business, Mater Chief," she stated. A moment later, the flight codes and authorization came through.

"Uh, yes My Lady. Shuttle Convor, clear for launch."

Elana nodded.

"Marcus? Luke? Take us out."

The Mu-type shuttle leaped out into space, accelerating up and out.

"Coordinates are inputted," Luke said.

"All right, jumping to lightspeed..." Quinn pushed the level forward, "now!"

The stars streaked to infinity, and formed into a hyperspace corridor. Luke smiled and leaned back in his chair.

"Well... I feel a bit better, knowing I'm not the only one who does crazy, ill advised rescues," he said. River leaned over and ran her fingers through his hair with a sexy chuckle.

"Comes with the territory, Skywalker," she whispered into his ear, "among other things, hmmm~?"

Luke sat up, and quickly looked over the controls.

"Ah, so, we're on course for Naboo! I'll just go check on the hyperdrive, shall I?"

Luke headed off back into the cargo bay. River snickered, though her own cheeks were red. Artoo burbled in exasperation.

"I see his status as an Alliance hero hasn't gone to his head," Quinn observed.

"It's a good thing, Quinn," Elana smiled, "though it's just going to get him even more attention. Go easy on him, okay River?"

"I'll do my best, but I can't make any promises," the Rist Shadow chuckled saucily.

Interestingly, this is in the same time period as Splinter of the Mind's Eye, so could be interesting to see how things go.

But shenanigans are afoot, and a certain Princess will likely be in need of a paddling when all is said and done.

Naturally, after rescuing Leia and Evaan, the Alderaan Civil Defense Fleet will have to protect Uvena Prime, and continue to make strikes on the Empire. Leia will be going with the main Alliance Fleet to act as their representative and continue to gather Alderaanians and others to their cause.

But they'll still participate in missions with the main Rebel fleet and of course, work with Leia... And others.

And there will still be the operation on Cymoon-1...

Given Cymoon is a combination of automation and slave labour, once its in Alliance hands they should be able to save the slaves and maybe get a lot of new members joining them. Retooling it will take time but if they want to they can build a lot of easier to build craft like upgraded Z-95s or make an attempt to improve the ship building equipment to build newer craft like the X-Wing etc. Of course one major problem will be keeping it, so it might be an idea to deploy a larger fleet, destroy the defences, send down every shuttle, freighter, landing ship and warship that can land and loot the place for its materials, components, finished weapons, anything they can steal that isn't nailed down and use crowbars for the rest.

With the size of the fleet and the way some of their ships are built, there's a lot of space on some of those vessels to store those supplies as well as load up landing ships, even better is the possibility of those ships carrying hyperspace capable craft and then filling up the larger ships, going down once more to fill their own bays and then jumping out after leaving some surprises in orbit and on the ground.

As an aside, do the alliance have any interdictors in the fleet?

Holding Cymoon-1 is not in the cards. It's in the Corellian Sector, in the Core Worlds area. Too hard. But yeah, raiding it for everything they can carry and then jumping out after wrecking the place? That will certainly send a message to the Empire.

And unfortunately no, they don't have any Interdictors... Though Quinn and the other Former Imperial officers might know where to find some...

gravity mines are also a thing and far easier to acquire/make

Depends if you have the capability of getting them or building them, same with a gravity well projector. Stealing an interdictor would allow the Rebels to build four smaller ships each with one similar to the CC7700s (I think) in legends. But mines would be a good idea if they can get them, even better if they can be tampered with to include a very large explosive, a small (or not so small) group left behind could cause mayhem on Imperial reinforcements (and maybe a second Rebel group jumping in behind them to capitalise on the damage).

The Alliance is going to need every ship they can assemble, beg, borrow, steal, modify or build to loot that moon (plus possibly stealing ships and shuttles from the moon itself would allow even more supplies to be stolen) and even every ship in the fleet probably wouldn't make much of a dent in whats on that thing. I guess it doesn't have an inbuilt hyperdrive then?

In some book i once read about lost fleet of 200 old republic battleships, taken by Thrawn after Empire fall.Could rebels take them now?

The Katana fleet would need to be Found first.

Right now only two people know where it is and at least one isn't talking and the other might be convinced, but that very much depends on if he's feeling generous, wants to give the information out or keeps it in hand. Of course they then have to crew those ships and even at the low level of 5000 per ships that's still 100,000 crew for the entire fleet and right now training that many people might not be feasible unless they strip some of their smaller ships for crew.

Then there's the probability of needing to refit and repair them after decades drifting in space supplying them with life support and crew specific consumables. Really right now the Katana fleet is the last thing they need, in the future.... maybe.

As for the Imperial blockade in the Alderaan system, how big are we talking about here?

The original raid on Cymoon-1 was focused mainly on causing destruction. They found the primary power control facility on the moon and set as many reactors on it to overload and meltdown or explode as they could. This caused massive damage to the moon, which was entirely focused on industry and mainly populated by droids.

Here, the same plan will be carried out, but the Alderaanian Civil Defense Fleet and a few other Rebel ships will make raids on and around Cymoon-1 to grab fuel, weapons, spare parts, vehicles and anything else they can find, as well as cause general mayhem. Han Solo may call in several smuggler and pirate friends to help with the raid. They will get paid handsomely with all the merchandise they can now sell off.

Yeah, the Katana Fleet isn't in the cards right now. Nor is Talon Karrde, though he will support the raid as a neutral seller, since he runs the Smugglers Alliance. The Rebel Alliance has enough trouble running one Dreadnought, and even that is crewed heavily with droids.

The Imperial blockade around Alderaan consists of at least five Star Destroyers, ten heavy cruisers of various types (including Interdictors), a few escort carriers, multiple light cruisers and frigates, and numerous corvettes. Delaya is no Cymoon-1, but it is a Core Industrial world and Alderaanian tech was very advanced. That and the Empire is trying to save face after the Death Star was destroyed...

Yeah to kill that blockade without horrific loses you need to commit a lot assets and unless the Mon Calamari have made way more progress in converting more ships to be battle ready those aren't available. Alternatively could sneak in a bunch of ion mines via a stealth ship if the Alliance has any and capture the whole force

Don't need a 'stealth' ship. Just some captured cargo ships that are converted to 'Ion'-ships...a al the old school fire-ships.

Probably the soonest that the Rebel Alliance could reclaim the Alderaan system would be Post-Endor. Any time before that and they just wouldn't have the resources or numbers. That blockade fleet is only a short jump away from numerous Imperial naval yards and bases after all. Even if you take out the entire blockade fleet, more reinforcements would be incoming.

That said, smuggling things through the blockade will be big business.
