@Agent23 for a second I honestly thought you were the one deleting the account.
Lol, No!
Read more carefully.

My personal view and opinion is , before the pc "takeover" , say a decade ago, 9 out of 10 of those here would have been neutral or apolitical. We wouldn't have chosen a position if it wasn't kinda forced (which makes me glad fandom in Italy is not in the shitter, unlike the Anglophone countries).
Doubtful, also your country is ran by that sleazebag neolibtard Draghi, so that doesn't bode well for it.

If the entertainment, in this case games, science fiction and more general fiction, turns to shit at the source how "sane" the fanbase in a foreign country is is irrelevant, that fanbase will probably be forced to dissolve, with the only option left being Anime and Manga.

By the way, has Italy produced any quality science fiction, comics or other mass pop/"geek" culture?

The Belgians /French did have Heavy Metal, Moebius, and the Frogs still have Luc Besson, no idea how those two comic industries are doing, though.

Also, at maximum we have ubertraditionalist. People like Trumpists are here because they little place where to go beyond already conservative forums (do they exist even?) since you are either far left, left or center left or centrist, liberal to be in "normal" websites.
I remember most of the mods on here, and they were primarily rightwingers and right of center libertarians back in SB's hayday, so not really.

There are a lot of alt-tech platforms for right of center people, actually, raging from h8chan to tradcon hotspots like Parler and Minds to places that cater to more fundamentalist Christians like Gab.
Many of the new streaming sites have also sprouted up as a reaction to Big Tech Libtard/commie bias.

You sound quite unhappy about the politics on here, though, have you considered joining SV?

So long story short, I am not unhappy about the politics here, quite the contrary : I used to be liberal, then went neocon (sort of) then Stalinist like, then full rightist and the pandemic turned me into "live and let live" guy.

I would consider myself a leftist , but I am VERY ... unorthodox about it.

I am for a welfare state, but not one where you grew fat and complancent ( Sweden and Saudi Arabia style).

I am for the working class of my countries , but first and foremost them.

I don't think race exists, but I still care about the nationhood of my countries and to a lesser extent of the countries of the Mediterranean Sea (except Turkey).

I judge people by the content of their character but I am the first to admit it's very difficult to not judge them collectively.

I am against racism and I experienced it on my skin first hand (even though I look, to quote a friend, "Moldavian-Norwegian") but I am not gonna shoot you down if you make a joke, I am also the first to make them.

I think there are racists yes but they are in the minority 99 per cent of the time and I call bullshit on those who claim the contrary.

I have sympathy for Islam but I am not gonna play pretend majority Muslim countries don't have some serious flaws (like the slave-based theocracy I mentioned above).

I am against wars UNLESS are like those who the USSR fought against the Nazis, where millions died because Stalin decided to stupidly tolerate and trust a fellow totalitarian schizo. You also don't see me so far downplay the evils of communism in Eurasia and beyond like Ethiopia.

I am against liberal and neoliberal capitalism and monopolism but I am not in favor of big taxes on anyone.

I am for guns should have a psychological/psychoanalytical and background check but not anything beyond that.

I also oppose mass migration not just because is a replacement for the work pool so the sleazebags like Draghi can lower wages and brain drain 3rd world countries.

I am a reader of Evola, Guenon and Sankara and others as well.

So I am a very unusual and atypical leftist.

Lol, Italian Trump supporter FTW :ROFLMAO:

I am more into the Moldbug/Burnham camps of the anti-establishment rightwing, myself.

I believe in science and precedent, and the science and the precendents say that humans are group-minded naked chimps that need stuff like traditions and religions to keep them from messing stuff up, I have a lot of sympathy for the post-humanist crowd, but when I see it I will believe it.

Preciously I was more on the Libertarian side of things, especially economically, but collectivist Chimps can't into true individualism, all the while maintaining multi-generational stability and actual progress, e.g. the technological kind.

I believe that Leftism is just a quasi-religious cult, a "Christianity without Christ" to paraphrase Dostoevsky.

That does not stop me from ridiculing fundamentalists of all major Abrahamic sects. Cow Worshipers,Moon worshipers, or fatguy-loving navel gazers.

If anything I'd rather religion revert to the old school ancestor-worshiping totemism and syncretism.

That does not mean that I discount the existence of a superior being, but for all we know it can be Q or Azathoth, frankly, those two would probably make more sense.

I have come to believe that some limited degree of welfare is necessary, but it must be focused on forcing people to get back on their feet, not keep them in wheelchairs, and that money for stuff like education should be spent on the STEM fields, not on gibberish humanitarian degrees.

I also think that there is no such thing as an impartial institution.

Now, since we are done with the mutual buttsniffing I'd love to hear more about Italian science fiction, comics and pop culture?

More on that later. I have uni stuff to do unfortunatly! But I will gladly be back on the subject once I will finish my exam period!

Here you go, Italian Magical Girls. One of them somehow uses digital techno-magic so totes counts as sci-fi. ;)

My sister used to watch that. Now they made an adult version of it with the original author blessing.

Fate: The Winx Saga - Wikipedia and I honestly didn't know this even existed , or that it became so famous Viacom wanted to buy it. Or it even had a dub until my sister's YT feed popped up with tha.

@Agent23 @Bear Ribs plus this last year Tear Along the Dotted Line - Wikipedia Monster Allergy - Wikipedia

Due to babysitting when it was on 4Kids Saturday morning lineup I wound up watching the first few seasons of Winx Club along with a few other cartoons in that lineup. I always thought it had really interesting and detailed worldbuilding, unfortunately it was paired with wretched pacing, dull generic storytelling, and constant transformations into new forms to sell more toys (I know I recall Charmix and Enchantix for the fairies and Gloomix for the Witches and I'm pretty sure there were many others throughout the seasons).

I do like the idea of the various competing magic systems rather than a single standard way to use magic. I also appreciated the dichotomy of every female character being some breed of mage and throwing around spells while all the guys ran on sci-fi rules slinging around lightsabers, beam pistols, and flying around in their hoverships.
