From what I've seen the screaming is because the directives basically demand you sit your ass at the PC and play through the holiday season to have even the slightest hope of completing them. Especially because they don't go together well, forcing you to play even more.

So it's not that it's a difficult grind, but that it's virtually impossible for anyone with human endurance and skill.

Anyway, why bother with the Puerto Rico when I just got my Enhanced Propulsion for my PRECIOUS Des Moines. This is the fight that nearly put me over the top on that goal:

This is, by far, my most dominating match in the Des Moines. I two-salvoed the Minotaur thanks to sub-10km citadel hits with AP. Wrecked the CV by myself after punching through and finishing off a Shimakaze.

And the final XP total was without the daily victory bonus, as I'd already won a match.

I think this is why I spend half the time weaving and dodging around islands and in and out of direct contact. Everybody wants to kill me.

Seriously, I get detected and it's like 2-3 enemies target me immediately. They fear those automatic 8"ers of DOOM.

Eh, look at the actual numbers there. It isn't really doable without buying the doubloon boosters - which is the point, but not how it was advertised.

It's what I meant about being beyond Human endurance, but pretty much, yeah.

If WG had just been honest and said "You'll spend money on this, but how much will depend on how many directives you clear, and they'll be tough", I think this wouldn't be nearly as enraging.
