ESPN's Stephen A. Smith is crying racism over Steve Nash, a White man, "skipping the line" in getting an NBA Coaching job while ignoring the apparent fact the NBA's first Black coach Bill Russell apparently was hired under similar standards.

In...Look at this and be amused news...
The CW was making a Powerpuff Girls live-action (I know I, for one, cringe just typing that).
They're now reshooting the pilot episode for some reason...Theory being because of leaked script stuff that was...well,

(Site no like linking photos from twitter, so as much as I hate doing it, here's a twitter link--has a few examples of the impressive writing)

I think my favorite is:
Why, 'cause she's the one who killed Mojo? I mean, moveon.org--
Simply for the top-tier accomplishment of making a cringe, dated political reference atop the background killing of the original series main antagonist.
Like...That's impressive.

Or, or, ooh, honorable mention to the pseudo-philosophical tripe darker & edgier Hollywood (well...Canada? Where does CW film?) went with!
Life is one big hate-boner

...It's like Oscar came back all these years after inflicting Artemis's Lover and its sequels upon the world, just so he could show us his new Powerpuff Girls fanfiction.

This is what happens when you let buzzfeed and tumblr write your stuff.

Isn't that pony show also meant for kids? I guess they are for the first time deliberately aiming at the fatherless neckbearded soy boy demographics.
As someone who's ostensibly part of that demographic (I don't have kids, I don't shave as much as I should, and I'm not exactly the most manly of men), looking at this feels like someone is trying to shit directly into my eye sockets.

Who is the audience for this? Wasn't this a kids' show?

The target audience isn't Powerpuff Girls fans. Hollywood just wants to use the brand name recognition to bring in more of the masses. Most people who go see reboots films like the new Robocop or the 2009 Star Trek or whatever, never actually saw the originals. It's just that Robocop and Star Trek were names commonly brought up in pop-culture. When the masses hear "robocop movie is coming out!", and remember that people talked about it a lot and seemed to speak of it fondly, they are more likely to go watch it than they are to go watch some brand new original movie they've never heard before.

Also, Hollywood writers are narcissists. They never care about actually care about the original work or adapting it faithfully. Adaptations are always inevitably the Hollywood writer(s) just wanting to do their own thing, but because they can't get the funding for their own original movie, they have to swap out the names of their own project with the names of the characters of the brand IP they're supposed to be adapting.

In short, as with most things our entertainment industry puts out these days, it's a show by narcissists, for narcissists.

I only saw the trailers (which were without any hint of plot) and already got a vibe of "nah, don't need to watch this".

I watched the frist few episodes. It is not bad but is mainly forgettable. The acting is ok and special effect are decent even if the CGI scenes are repeated to much. But the plot line is standard Sci-Fi rebuilding a destroyed Earth by destroying a different place. Overall I would not recommend it. It is not really good enough or interesti g enough to watch while not being bad enough to watch like Sharknado.

It does do something that is different in that it has Balck Women actor be actual bad guys. Not the misunderstood or anti hero ones we mainly see. But bat shit crazy bad guys that will kill you as easily as look at you. That is a rare thing in most new things snice minorities can not be shown badly anymore. So ya for that but overall I would pass.
