Gomez Addams, in the original comic, looked like an ugly Hispanic man, not dashing like (the Puerto Rican) Raul Julia.

Just linking because I won't download the imgur app, bastards.

Anyways, it was jarring to go back to the comic design, but the worst thing about Luis Guzman's casting is he wasn't energetic. He kinda nails the original comic look.

Yeah, the feminism was totally out of place coming out of Wednesday's mouth.
Gomez originally wasn’t handsome bd did have more of a Hispanic look to him. Gomez is a Spanish surname, though it’s actually really unusual as a first name in Spanish speaking countries. How unusual? So unusual that in most Spanish speaking countries they changed his name to Homero.

I don’t necessarily mind how Luis Guzman looks, but he really lacks charisma in this role. Both John Astin and Raul Julia played Gomez with loads of personality, charisma, and as you said - energy. Watching Luis Guzman as Gomez makes me sleepy. It’s not about race or even looks, it’s about the kind of striking personality that Gomez has traditionally had.
Wednesday and Pugsley also swapped personalities from the comic/original show to the remakes. Wednesday was the sensitive emotional one and Pugsley was the ice-cold serial killer in training in the Old School Addams.
I hate how they portray Pugsley as this pathetic weakling. He’s still an Addams and shouldn’t be denigrated to prop up Wednesday. Though they do that in all of the shows and movies now. The female characters can’t just be cool, the male characters have to look bad too.

Hallelujah!!! I was wrong! I should be mad given the fact that in any other time period, this plot twist would be as obvious as all get out, but given the direction our society is going, I'll take it.

Marvel's New Major X-Men Twist Was Hinted At Years Ago

Warning: contains major spoilers for Immortal X-Men #10The ending to Immortal X-Men #10 just revealed a massive X-Men twist, as Charles Xavier reveals that he is now a Mr. Sinister clone - or imbued with Sinister's DNA - in the lead-up to the upcoming Sins of Sinister event.

Sinister has had a horrific plan to take over the universe brewing for years now, involving complex collections of mutant DNA, extensive experimentation, and a cadre of Moira X clones that the deranged villain uses to reset the universe when he fails too greatly. Sinister recently killed much of the Quiet Council - targeting Hope Summers in particular - and it seems that through Hope's death and rebirth he was able to trigger Sinister DNA in a variety of Council members, something he did to Charles Xavier years ago in 2008's X-Men Legacy #213.

Sinister has a long and complex relationship with mutantkind, stemming from his time as the geneticist Nathaniel Essex starting in the mid-1800s up until the present. A major breakthrough for the villain came during the Black Womb Project, a secret experimentation project conducted on mutant children including Charles Xavier and Sebastian Shaw. Back in X-Men Legacy #213 by Mike Carey and Scot Eaton, it was revealed that Sinister had created a "Cronus device" to be triggered upon his death, which would cycle his consciousness through a series of potential targets that he had installed a "backup" in, one of whom was Xavier. Sinister's plan worked, and he was reborn within Charles, giving the founder of the X-Men a truly ominous Red Diamond on his forehead. Although Xavier was able to push Sinister out of his head while Sebastian and Gambit destroyed the Cronus device, one has to wonder whether a part of Sinister's mind or DNA didn't stay within Charles. The big twist of Immortal X-Men #10 - written by Kieron Gillen with art by Lucas Werneck - is that Xavier is actually a clone of Sinister, or was transformed into a Sinister variant, and while the exact way this happened has not been clear, there are plenty of context clues that provide insight.

Immortal X-Men #9 saw Sinister trying desperately to slaughter members of the Quiet Council, focusing on Hope and other psychics. The issue included a diagram showing Sinister's plans, but looking back there are actually some clues as to who would first become a Sinister clone on the Quiet Council. The four major psychics on the Council - Hope, Charles, Emma Frost, and Exodus - were labeled 1 through 4, with no other Council members included. It is known from Phil Noto's gorgeous cover for Immoral X-Men #1 that those four Council members are assuredly Sinister clones, and throughout Immortal X-Men #10 those four mutants are also seen grouped together in several scenes, standing as close peers.

How Sinister Created His Twisted Clones of the X-Men's Leaders
One theory is that since Sinister controls the DNA aspect of the Resurrection Protocols, he was able to somehow make Hope into a Sinister clone after her death and resurrection, and then the Sinister Hope was able to do the same to Exodus, Emma, and Charles, who were all also reborn this issue. However, one might wonder why the diamond was not visible on these mutants as they were resurrected out of their eggs. The answer could lie in Sinister's love of "triggers," seen in X-Men Legacy, and there is a chance that Sinister's banishment to the Pit is what triggered the full Sinister takeover of the mutants.

There is still much that is not known about how Sinister managed to transform many major X-Men characters into Sinister-versions of themselves - although a precedent has already been set for a Mr. Sinister version of Charles Xavier - but these secrets and dark manipulations will surely be revealed as the world of Sins of Sinister is unveiled.

My question is where have the real X-men been kept while these woke Mister Sinister clones have been running around masqurading as them? How long has this been going on and probably the biggest question of them all, was this plan always intentional or is this the result of backlash and declining sales. How much are they going to retcon or are we going to see a double twist where these were the real x-men after all?

Good lord people it really is the 90s all over again. People are going to look back on this as the Clone Saga: X-Men addition, aren't they?

I wonder sometimes about maybe some kind of crowd-funding campaign to buy the rights to the franchise and release it to the public domain so that fans can make projects unhindered.
So, just a wrinkle, but once it has been released to the public domain, how do you keep it there in the face of malicious claiming of the copyright, say (for example) buying a book a movie is based on and then claiming the movie (released to the public domain) is a derivitive work and therefore the book rights holder holds the copyright? Because this has happened before.

Apparently Adam Warlock has a sister named Eve Warlock (GET IT?) whose reportedly faster, stronger and smarter then Adam Warlock who... IIRC, was pretty highly rated in all of those categories. Maybe things changed since Starlin's time many decades ago.

Bounding Into Comics said:
This never-before-seen chapter will introduce a character named Eve Warlock who is described as “someone stronger faster, and smarter than Adam himself!” On top of being superior to Adam Warlock in what appears to be every way, she will also “strip Adam of all his power, starting with the Soul Gem.”

The last time this kind of wackiness occurred was when the scientists who created Adam Warlock later created 'Her' which was a being meant to mate with Adam Warlock and create the perfect race.

Hopefully they won't go that route with this storyline...

Farts if I know. I would think it would be pretty obvious based on what actually came first, which with a popular franchise like Star Trek or Star Wars should be pretty obvious. The only alternative would be to form a company to keep the rights, but have a very loose licensing agreement that still allows fans to make their own stuff. The problem there is sustainability, because it would need a continuous stream of money to keep the company going, and would probably require additional crowdfunding for any legal bullshit that might come up.

Don't get me wrong, I like the idea but this is an issue I became aware of recently that arise with old movies (example It's A Wonderful Life got pulled back into copyright this way).

I don't know as I've neither played the game nor watched the show. It just bothered me given the way Canada has gone crazy with pushing suicide lately.
Country which is committing suicide should support suicide of its inhabitants. It is only logical.

First Doctor Seuss, and now Roald Dahl, the woke mob is relentless. For now they seem focused on modern literature, but I'm double-checking my collection of classical and early modern works to see how many of them are in good shape or in need of replacement before locking them down. I would hardly be surprised if in say...ten years time, they'd be editing the works of Machiavelli, Dante Alighieri, Shakespeare, or even Homer and Euripides, for a 'modern' audience.

*spits*

And after that parody called 'Rings of Power' by Amazon, I'd do likewise to modern literature as well. Who knows how long until the print versions of LotR stay sacred, now that Christopher Tolkien is dead and no one's left to fend off the dogs.

@Captain X do I need to watch episode 3 in its entirety to understand what comes after ? They made the main caretaker a homo for no reason.

I haven't watched the TV show myself but from the summation:

Bearded guy Nick Offerman is a highly gay highly capable prepper in a gay relationship with his gay boyfriend or whatever and said boyfriend is like disabled and suffering and wants to die. So after they encounter the two protaganist main characters and send them off Prepper guy finally gives in to poisoning his boyfriends wine in a form of assisted suicide. But after terminal boyfriend drinks the wine, Gay Prepper guy drinks the wine too and they have this heartfelt, teary eyed and beautiful romantic moment of turning assisted suicide into one last session of queer couples therapy.

So whatever your thoughts are on euthanasia or assisted suicide, this show decided to go one step further with an interpretation of events that going Romeo & Juliet is actually super romantic after all. It's not handled in a nuanced manner like in say Million Dollar Baby where its seen as assisting a loved one whose suffering is a rightly anguishing decision to make and even if you carry it out, you'll be emotionally and morally lost from the experience. It's beautifully sad and romantic.. and pretty gay.

And keep in mind, this Gay Prepper guy was like super capable. He could've probably... HELPED the protaganists considerably on their quest after offing his spouse. He could've lived on with that heartbreak and done stuff. But he willfully chose the Cowards way out because of his feelings.

To be honest I feel this is a realistic display of gay relationships. I mean think about it how selfish a gay relationship is especially in a post apocalyptic world like that. What would Joel and Ellie find when they go to that house nothing but two rotting corpses. While if he was with a woman there is life there even if he dies he could pass on his skills to survive in a son or daughter. Then Joel and Ellie would have seen a young girl or boy and they could have helped each other. The world would be slowly improving. Also the kid would be able to actually bury the bodies so that they aren’t left to rot or chewed up by insects or beasts.

That is truly horrible. Even if I thought that they could do a good job, Jackson’s LotR are too iconic and classic for a remake. They aren’t going to do a good job though, it’s going to be a woke SJW attack on the fans and franchise just like everything that they make now.
If they do, we riot. I’m only somewhat joking.
