In an update on that particular matter, Jaleel Stallings was found not guilty on all eight charged counts for firing at Minneapolis police with a handgun. The evidence in this case clearly showed that the police 1) were in an unmarked van and wearing generic tactical gear, 2) opened fire unprovoked on persons who were *not* in any way rioting, 3) did not identify themselves as law enforcement prior to opening fire, 3) beat the shit out of Stallings even though he surrendered as soon as they actually identified themselves as law enforcement and was completely compliant with commands, and 4) falsely accused him of resisting arrest even though body cam and surveillance camera footage clearly showed that he was perfectly compliant.
He was acquitted back in July, but the incident has been on the news in the past few days because the body cam footage was recently released.
