Philosophy What do we think about Hans-Hermann Hoppe?

I thought that the first time I encountered the man was in Hoppean snake and helicopter memes on this site. Apparently, that was wrong, I had previously read one of his books Democracy: The God that Failed. I recall disliking it for couching monarchism in religiosity. That seems to have been premature as the text was actually an assortment of short works that covered a number of angles, mainly social and economic.

Reading synopses of his stuff reminds me of the essays written by @Certified_Heterosexual as well, though he is free to take that as he will.

I'm just curious, seeing as how I have little experience with the man outside of his wiki page and memes, what people's opinions are.

He's an alright guy I agree and disagree with a lot of things he says.

Honestly i don't see much things about him that are libertarian.
I think the best description of him would be monarchist capitalist. His interpretation of libertarianism seems to be one where freedom of association is taken to its logical conclusion and people discriminate against anyone they dislike in their own little pocket communities, but at the cost of the freedom of speech regarding that discrimination (articles of confederation do not typically allow their own destruction).
