Yeah, that thing from the UN would carry a lot more water if the entire organization wasn’t populated by the most transparent of hypocrites. And yet we’ve got whole committees that sit and listen politely to the member from Venezuela, which hasn’t had a free and fair election in decades, for instance.
Even if you accept the premises of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights(which I don't), there are examples that show that not even signers of the Declaration consider voting a right.

In Brazil, voting is mandatory; should you not vote and not present a formal justification for not voting(which has a fee to it, even if it's less than a bus ride), you will be penalized for it(for example, you wouldn't be able to renew your passport). This means that in Brazil, voting is effectively a civic duty, not a right.

SB had a flounce, “Dakkaface” wrote a few hundred words and finished with:

It wasn't a good chapter. have read worse, but it was not good. Between this and the positively lovely takes I'm seeing in the discussion I'll just go ahead and punch out here.

Holy skid marks in your tighty whiteys Batman!
Look at me, I am leaving ...... because I did not like “stuff” people said.... and flounce.
Speaker provides free BT crack, so I will tell him he is doing it wrong, because his free labor is mine to do with as I desire, Sparky my invisible, glitter covered unicorn. Told me so.

The hilarious irony is that if you went for a full ducal dictatorship you would have likely gotten ten times less flak then a limited franchise quasi-democracy. It’s either only the correct people should rule or full mob rule and nothing in between.

Socialism is nothing but rebranded western feudalism. The state is the lord, all powerful, above the peons, above the law, all belongs to the state, and destroy any who oppose the way things are “supposed to be”.

I know. I mean, *I* have written a BT fic, and *I* didn't get that much flaming! Shee.

Personally, when I read the fool who went paraphrased: "I don't belive that governments can buy votes with their 'money'" I just... dude. I... Yeah. I got nuthing.

Seriously, did you ever take *world history*, if so, beat the teacher black and blue for failing late Roman empire history. (To that poster)

I, however, *now* fully understand why "The Sietch" exists (if I needed *more* reason to understand, that is) It is a shame, mind you it's *becoming needed*

You really have to wonder how some of those people even get through life, given how narrow minded and reflexively unthinking they are. Then again, they probably don't, given that they have the time to write long winded diatribes that are less useful and informative than the dump I just took.

I still can not wrap my head around the entitlement of some posters on SB.

“ Your story is wrong” ........insert rant. An author contributes his creativity and labor by freely sharing it on SB. How can the author be wrong? No one is making you read the story, if you dislike it so much do not read it.

The author is your slave? Did you have a contract, you paid him?

Is it me or did people who never posted on the thread before all show up and start attacking the story?

Space Battles needs to change their name to SpaceBook.

Edited* cleanup due to fat fingers and fatigue.

Given the lack of dropper choppers not on their own. Mind you said Centurions have been massively upgraded and I wouldn't be surprised if Alastair put in an order for some Eagles(and some Stingrays if they're on the market)while on Tharkard to cover the fact that theirs only a single Stingray. As for dropper choppers depends on what's available on the Lyran market and whether or not Katrina was planning on spending ASF reinforcements which I think she was.

Yeah, a few SBers have complained that they're uncomfortable with any religious talk at all but not much of a storm.
Yeah so... um... I'm just going to quietly retract this now.

I don't seem to be able to view this thread for some reason. Do I need special permission or something?
Yeah, you need to request access from a mod for that forum.

Let's just hope Tharkad doesn't send him Chippewas as backup.

Hey with the resources available on Catachan you can actually make a decent Chippewa variant. Sure it won't have a XL engine(at least for now) but if you strip 2 of the large lasers, the 2 small lasers aft and the SRM-6 and the ammo for it you can add 1 ton of LRM ammo, 2 double heatsinks(and make all of the existing heatsinks double as well of course), make the remaining 2 large lasers ER, add a pair of medium lasers both fore and aft and add 8 tons of armor which would be upgraded to ferro-aluminum to boot. Not a bad upgrade at all. And that's just me eyeballing it. I'm sure I could come up with a better variant

That's basically the W-10 with some foundtech, but it took Davions to do it.

Where are you getting the number? I know that Weber only fielded centurion and a stingray on his campaign. However I am fairly sure he stated he was not taking his full aerospace assets. My question is how much he left home and what models they have.
The relevant chapter said he had a full ASF wing with him ie 20 birds(or in other words what a Union CV and Overlord can carry at maximum capacity)and 2 Squadrons left at home with everything but the CAG's Stingray being Centurions so all told 31 Centurions and 1 Stingray
