Or maybe they would have logistical problems because they squander so much of their resources on tax funded bling and symbols.

Nah, all of their ongoing construction projects like that are basically rounding error compared to even the food budget.

The average American consumes a ton of food per year, figure that the average citizen of the Imperium is a quarter of that. A hive world of a hundred billion is consuming 50 trillion pounds of food per year. Given the levels of pollution and environmental decay on those worlds, and assuming that their recycling technologies are good enough to cover 80% of their food needs, they are still importing a trillion pounds of food per year. And that is exclusive of any packaging, spoileage, or other wastage. That is five hundred million tons of food imports. That is a third of real life Earth's total annual food production.

Compared to the costs of that, building one mega construction project per world per decade is literally such a miniscule expense that it basically amounts to petty cash. You probably spend more, as a percentage of income, on a Christmas tree every year than the Imperium spends on absurdly massive cathedrals.

The Paunch and the Warden DLC is dropping for Total War: Warhammer 2 and the Greenskins are finally getting some much needed (and already much modded) awesome units to FLESH out their roster.

Behold the Giant River Troll Hag... this ain't your alternative cutie World of Warcraft Troll Maiden... she's thick, she's mighty and she brings the feast to you. Avert your male gaze from her bountiful bosom. It's not meant for you.

But seriously, the Greenskins are like the most fun campaign (besides Beastmen) in the game IMHO campaign wise, it'll be great being able to play this new roster out in a close to vanilla campaign game.

So, 9th edition is on the way. Not much solid info on the new edition, aside from tanks getting some buffs and terrain being reworked.

What I'm really interested in is that there appears to have been a leak of the new marine stuff, showing new HQs (meh), primaris assault marines (no jetpacks, meh), new bikes (oh)...and what might be some gravis armored guys with heavy weapons (WANT).

The video looks great.

Getting some Necron and Sisters of Battle action in a cinematic is always welcome.

Agreed some more IG would be nice but against the Necrons they would tend to die in rather large amounts that might undermine the impact the cinematic was trying to convey. ;)

I like the effects they used for the desintegration by gauss rifle.

Agreed. I think, as cool sounding as the old "flaying people apart atom by atom" effect sounded, it always had the problem of how anyone with decent armor stood a decent change of tanking the hit, and there was always that question of how anyone could survive that hovering around.

This feels a lot more like intregrated into the game, where you can certainly buy it being lethal, but not so lethal than it raises questions as to how anyone could actually tank it. You can see someone getting a hand messed up or some armor mauled but keep fighting.

I just want my Alpha Legion to be Great Again. No, scratch that, I just want the Alpha Legion to have some relevant fluff. I want my Chaos Space Marine Chosen to be Great Again.

As long as I can keep bringing Hellforged Contemptors, a Hellforged Achilles Landraider and that (By Horus's Hoary Taint, it's so awesome!) Chaos Drop-pod that just po-go sticks all over the field killing mooks, I'm good. Still want my Chosen to be decent, and please GW, give Chaos Terminators something to make them survivable and not insta-gibbed.

Kislev...

The Book of Choyer is a Warhammer Fantasy Lore Channel. They've been active for a few years and have grown pretty well. I've been a loyal subscriber of their channel since the excellent lore video on the Battle of Hal Fenn. Currently The Book of Choyer creates lore videos related to the Warhammer Fantasy universe and as of a few months ago even started a lore heavy narrative Total War Warhammer 2 campaign. All of his videos have gotten five digit views minimum and many of his most popular videos have received several hundred thousand views.

Kislev and the Great War Against Chaos is the result of not just The Sietch sponsoring the video, but a months long collaboration from beginning to end. It was great fun helping in a small way with the research and script of this video and extremely cool to see the fruits of our collaboration end up being this channels longest lore video yet.

The Sietch chose to sponsor a lore video on Kislev not just because it's the coolest (no pun intended) country in the Old World, but because it's both a bulwark against Chaos and a very improbable but ultimately awesome blending of Russia, Polish, Baltic, Slavic, Mongolian and Scandinanvian lore.

Please check out this lore video. It's a great watch for fans of Warhammer lore specifically, fantasy settings in general and it really does come across with the quality and detail that you might expect from one of those fancy Historical Youtubers. The Book of Choyer's lore videos are top notch and as good as any other channel out there and it was a pleasure working with them over these past few months and seeing the idea develop into this FORTY minute long lore video.

Leave a like, comment, share it with your friends and enjoy!

"Kislev."

Sure it won't be cheap but neither is losing battles and planets due to your troops wearing the equivalent of cardboard. Moreover you'd need less troops to do the same job

Quantity VS Quality.....gonna be a long time before you can increase amount of said Quality, so I’m guessing these would be small groups before the rest get upgraded gradually in centuries

Agreed, honestly if the Imperium didn't value human life so little giving every guardsmen at least semi powered armor would make a lot of sense.
Eh, they'd do it in a heartbeat if they could afford it. Realistically, it'd be for heavy weapon crews that could use the strength to save a warm body on the front and reduce the bother of having somebody else fall back to re-man the heavy flamer, alongside vehicle crews to accelerate manual loading and reduce armor casualties from their crew being more durable.
