Definitely vampires.

Vampires are immortal, they are sexy, beautiful, rich, powerful, they have mind control powers, they can cast spells, even shape change. What do werewolves do? Turn into wolves. Even the plethora of weaknesses vampires have make them more interesting.

Vlad Tepes was cool too. The ruler of a tiny region in Eastern Europe managed to hold the might Ottoman Empire at bay and even strike terror into their hearts. He deserves some credit for that.

Plus, I’ve never been able to get over the Captain Planet Garou from Werewolf: the Apocalypse.

Werewolves tend to be a lot more varied in terms of lore ranging from the evilest of monsters to borderline Heaven's Sheepdogs territory Vampires however can't seem to get out of their emo or edgelord phase. For every one Underworld or Blade you get half a dozen twilights Plus a she-wolf doesn't need mind control powers to wed and bed a man.

I think that all depends on the type of vampire. This is but one type, and it tends to represent a specific fear or concept that people may fear... I think all vampires, or all good vampires lean into a certain type of fear and share a sort of underlying common fear.

Vlad was a cool in the bloodthirsty tyrant sort of way and also him having massive balls of steel.

That is unfair to Captain Planet, one the dork wasn't an eco-terrorist, two he valued human life, and three he actually made the world a better place.

I disagree. Vampires show more variance. They range from sexy (literal-blood sucking) elites. To walking corpses out to feast on the living. To blood thirsty warriors (such as Alucard from Hellsing or the Blood Dragons from WHFB). Victims of a dark curse who are forced to subsist off the lifeforce of others. People who have sold their soul for power (or something else) and have become the living dead... You also have sparkle faires, poorly written LGBT stand-ins, brooding pretty boys who want to get their humanity back, relatively normal people who want to end their curse...

Hell, vampires can be pretty boy space marines.
