CO Gubernatorial Debate #3 between CO Governor Jared Polis (R) vs University of Colorado Regent Helen Ganahl (R). I still have Polis winning reelection so easily by double digits (61% to 36%).

Any Coloradans on Sietch have personal thoughts on the statewide elections in the Centennial State ?

I'll vote for Ganahl, but I don't expect her or the GOP to win any new seats or offices in CO; MAGA is basically viewed as a swear word by a lot of the state.

Crazy to think Owens is likely the last Republican to win the Colorado Governor's Mansion in our lifetime
You probably aren't wrong; realistically, the national level GOP would be better off accepting that Colorado is no long a swing state, and is deep blue for the most part.

Focusing on keeping the few House seats they in CO would be a better use of GOP money.

On the Colorado Governor's Mansion in Denver....

Bill Ritter (D) was the most recent Colorado Governor to live there full-time during his tenure.

Hickenlooper (2011-2019) stayed part-time and Polis (2019-) stays there I think when the Colorado General Assembly is in session.

Why would anyone want to live full-time in that dusky old Governor's Mansion in the middle of Denver, when they have the rest of CO to enjoy and live in?

Kemp seemed to keep things together and focused on what GA really wants.
I didn't 100 percent finish but Trump was only brought up in passing and by Abrams.
So no more of this "Endorsed by Trump means bad" it seems.
She is fighting against guns and I think that will cost her.
Plus Kemp gave money back from taxes.

The Libertarian fucked up that cost him the election early on about the farms and tje CCP

Big question is whether Kemp cracks 13% among African Americans and 33+% among Latinos in 21 days?

What's wrong with the Governor's Mansion in Denver?

I know Cableland is the official residence of the Denver Mayor.
It's in a neighborhood that has lousy traffic a lot of the time, is hard to get to any highway easily from it, it's more a symbol of the city/state than something people actually visit or live in much, and there are much nicer areas for someone who is Governor to live in.

How about building a new Governor's Mansion in the Denver suburbs?

Speaking of Governor's Mansions: Oklahoma Governor Kevin Stitt (R) is generating controversy over secret private donations, funds of building a new Governor's Mansion

No way are Colorado taxpayers going to ok that; we may be a pretty blue state, but last election all the tax initiatives failed.

We also aren't really the sort of state that cares about whether the governor lives in the mansion, when we are such an outdoor and wilderness focused state.

I like the Governor's Mansion. You wouldn't be saying that if the President refuses to live in the White House

If POTUS wanted to spend as much time as possible away from DC, I have no problem with that.

Just the climate in DC, never mind the politics, is unpleasant to reside in long term; it was literally a swamp before we built our Capital there.

I personally think we should move a lot of the DC buracracy out of DC.

If the FBI was moved to detroit for example that would help elevate the economy, the over concentration of federal wealth in one tiny piece of the country is a problem.

Trump tried that in few instances.

He moved the Bureau of Land Management (the OG BLM) office out to Grand Junction, since most BLM land is west of the Mississippi anyway, it's in an area with good access to most large BLM areas thanks to I-70, US 50, and US 550 all going through town, and travel costs would be much smaller for most officers/staff/agents to get to and from major meetings/briefings/conferences.

Biden moved it back when he came in.

another thing that Biden needs to anser for, because Grand Junction needed those federal jobs more then DC.

Speaking of massive lands: they need to expand Arlington National Cemetery in Arlington, Virginia because from what I'm hearing it's almost full.

They need to purchase lands in other parts of Virginia by naming it Arlington National Cemetery No. 2
