Americans as a whole have never fought a war that if they lose could end in the entire nations annexation, at least not since the war of 1812, even then our opponents didn't care enough to put forth the effort to reintegrate us back into the Empire.

Plus lets be honest, while I feel for the Ukrainians, it's honestly not as bad as the media portrays the war. both sides are led around the nose by idiots, and I have no doubt that if Ukraine somehow ends up winning they're start right back where they were in 2012.
