We all love underdogs, they’re usually guys who are comparatively weak or unpowered and maybe disliked and hated or just really looked down on by the majority of society

Thing is however, I believe WHO the underdog IS can be “co-opted” or fail to realise when said underdog is or has become more more powerful than you’d think

The Oppression Olympics, the thing that sorta ranks how oppressed you are wherein a person who’s a combination of Trans FTM, Homosexual, Black & Muslim can sorta actually ignore as to how much power said individual or individuals actually have or exaggerate the number of crimes being done to them

There is also the factor of being “unique” even when there were already lots of “unique” people or even fictional characters around and embraced by others before. Or simply put past “unique” people just “don’t count” for one reason or another like being made for the male gaze or something.

But this idea of oppression is something used to make an underdog and underdog, without others being depicted as holding them down, they’re not underdogs

Even if an individual who has those external superficial traits that don’t account personality and ability and skill and wealth, isn’t oppressed, he/she/xe may still be counted as “oppressed”

All you have to do is ignore that individual or groups of individuals personality, ability, skill and wealth level or most of all just how much they can get away with things without consequences of any sort
