United States Trump 2nd Term - Planning and Beyond

Not the thread for theological discussions or debates about the sciences.

I’m somewhat disappointed that the OBBB didn’t have the SHORT Act or HPA in it.

But I know that Representative Clyde is a 2A absolutist. He met with Trump personally before switching his vote. So I’m wondering what got promised in exchange for his vote.

Probably promised that the Fed wouldn't really fight the zero dollar tax lawsuit that got filled same day as the BBB getting passed to challenge the NFA entirely.

It is worth noting that we have a serious patent issue right now.
Automation can and does massively replace humans in many farming fields.

But those automated machines are protected from imitators via patents. Which creates monopolies, which let them price them very highly.
Also, their repair costs are sky high because of propritary locks that prevent the use of off the shelf replacement parts. you have to get ridiculously overpriced replacement parts which all come with security chips to prevent the use of off the shelf repair components.

This kind of corporate abuse has massively inflated the cost of farming. To the point where paying illegals less than minimum wage to do manual labor is seen a viable substitute to automated machinery.

Right to Repair has become a necessity to avoid more anti-capitalism sentiment on the right. The xenophobia can be easily handled, but this is a rational complaint.

Let's see if the orange blimp does something about it.

I don't know where people got the foolish idea that capitalism means corporate dystopia of govt backed monopolies.

In a capitalistic society, you just fix your shit.
Or you make a competing product.

It takes an anti-capitalistic govt who puts you in prison for "violating the intellectual property" of the megacorps.

They are doing anticapitalism while calling themselves capitalists and everyone else an anti-capitalist.

Kinda like how the leftists are doing racism while calling everyone else a racist. sexism while calling everyone else a sexist. etc.

The Trump Administration has decided to bury the Epstein case.

The story now is that not only did Epstein kill himself, there was no Epstein List, Epstein never blackmailed anyone, and no one else connected to Epstein committed any crimes worth investigating.

. . . yeah, I can maybe buy Epstein really committed suicide, but the rest of it, nope, Elon was right. Either:

1) Trump was on the list, just in a lesser manner than important members/supporters of the Biden administration, something not really criminal but bad looking, or

2) That but for members of Trump's family, or

3) Trump decided to use the blackmail to get things he wants, like say forcing the BBB through Congress. The House not demanding a conference committee when the Senate added a few trillion in pork to their bill was certainly unexpected. And now the quid pro quo.

To be clear. it is not an FBI announcement.

It is an alleged leaked internal memo that says after reviewing all 300 gb of files they found nothing in those files.

seeing as how we got a bunch of whistle blowers saying that they are destroying evidence. and have been doing so for years, it is quite obvious that all the incriminating evidence was destroyed already

also, I am vindicated by saying trump should not have appointed patel to FBI and should have shut it down, fired everyone, and sent declassifiers to restore all shredded info and publish it.

He can't shut it down only congress can

He can shut it down by ordering everyone not to show up to work and having men with guns stop anyone who tries, but can't permanently dissolve it.
He can't tell them not to show up though.
Add in a complete halt like that woukd actually hurt many things, mainly the use of the crime lab and the numerous cases they already have going on

He can't tell them not to show up though.
yes he can. it is literally what it means to be the executive branch.

the democrats have already demonstrated how effectively you can shut down things you disagree with. such as when they completely shut down border enforcement. as one of many examples.

Yes, exactly.

Moreover, he can then blacklist every former FBI employee, and hire experienced state cops with good history to form a new FBI.

...All authority in the Executive branch flows from him. Unless Congress passes a law saying so and SCOTUS upholds it as not violating the separation of powers, he can in fact order them to not do their job, and they would be obligated to obey.

This is exactly what happened with the border crisis, telling various elements of immigration enforcement to not do their job or do it intentionally badly. With the specific intention of allowing the law to be broken at unprecedented scales. Hence why it stopped almost instantly upon Trump moving to enforce it.
