The Secret History of the Shadow Campaign That Saved the 2020 Election

That’s why the participants want the secret history of the 2020 election told, even though it sounds like a paranoid fever dream–a well-funded cabal of powerful people, ranging across industries and ideologies, working together behind the scenes to influence perceptions, change rules and laws, steer media coverage and control the flow of information. They were not rigging the election; they were fortifying it. And they believe the public needs to understand the system’s fragility in order to ensure that democracy in America endures.

They're openly admitting it now. It's alright though. No worries guys, it's "fortifying" the election, not "rigging" it, so it's totally cool. They didn't rig it, they just made sure Biden won!

Seriously though. They've just admitted it. It's all right there in the open now. My only guess is that they knew this was coming out, so they decided to get ahead of it and try to set the narrative.

Anyways, it'll be interesting to watch this play out. right wing media is going to have a fucking field day with this today, and I figured it will generate a lot of discussion, so I decided to start a new thread rather than cram it into the giant election thread.

It'll certainly be a good day to be watching conservative media. they're going to be ALL OVER this.

I suggest people posting that content to this thread as it goes up.

It'll be interesting how this plays out for sure.

I know it's hard to remember, but late 2019 was pre-Covid days. In the tail end of 2019 before the lockdowns there was a lot of indicators that Trump had a very solid path to victory. The primary concern of the electorate was the economy at the time, an issue where Trump and the Republicans simply trounced the Biden and the Dems on. While the polling was close, there were a lot of secondary indicators that pointed to Trump (primary turnout, for instance), and Trump wasn't saying ANYTHING about election integrity or voting issues because nobody was even worried about them yet. As such, the concern they had at the time this conspiracy started wasn't that Trump was going to be a sore lose, it was that he had a chance to get reelected AT ALL.

Just one time, I'd like to try and convince people that whatever anti-leftist conspiracy theory they're obsessed with is untrue, without having the left themselves barge in and proudly announce that they are totally doing whatever the conspiracy nuts are accusing them of doing.

I'm not even sure what the intended point of this article is supposed to be, because lines like "a well-funded cabal of powerful people, ranging across industries and ideologies, working together behind the scenes to influence perceptions, change rules and laws, steer media coverage and control the flow of information." seem almost calculated to fuel the existing conspiracy theories that TIME just spent a bunch of time railing against. Of course, the cynical answer is that that's exactly what they wanted to do, because they can get away with propagating and spreading awareness of absurd conspiracies and then pretend they did no such thing and paint republicans as conspiracy nuts.

After all, it's what they did with Qanon, which despite being far more well known on the left and particularly among politically active and aware elements of the party, is being spun as something that's pervasive on the right and something that's been spreading largely through right wing media.

The Qanon is a good example there.

I wasn't even sure what Q was until like, December.

Right wing media that I follow was barely talking about it, and when they did it was usually along the lines of "don't listen to that Qanon conspiracy crap," and I'd just shrug and move on.

All the while the left was losing their minds about it.

I'm seeing an ossified political and economic class that isn't capable of meaningful reform anymore.

What do you see?
An impressive display of arrogance, for one. Seriously; they must feel really secure in their power to believe that they can get away with outright admitting what they did. They're probably thinking that most people won't care, so long as they present it in the right way; and sadly, I don't expect they'll be disappointed.

That's what you get for trying to be the "voice of reason"; turns out the "conspiracy nuts" were right.

I strongly suspect that this is intended to get ahead of The Gateway Pundit's release of the actual surveillance video from inside the TCF Center in Detroit showing events that the media, the Democrat Party, and election officials in Michigan denied happening actually, well, happening.

The first video is up, showing that there was, in fact, an illegal 0330 ballot drop of 'mail in ballots' without any chain of custody elements in place.

I hadn't even heard about this yet.

Damn, that's big news too. Do you have a link handy?

I always believed this was true. It now that there's video proof...I'm speechless.

Other than "holy shit," I have no further words for the stuff I am seeing today.

Wow.

. . . Between this in Michigan and the shenanigans that happened in Pennsylvania that likely tipped the State to Biden... that would have been enough. If those two states had gone to Trump it would have been 270 for him.

I mean, if you can get away with talking oit of both sides of your mouth, its very advantageous to do so.

Like, feminism got a lot of miliage out of saying both that feminism was just about equality, but also woman were superior to and different than men in all these different ways.

Lets them simutaniously fight to destroy "male privilege", such as mens clubs ability to practically exclude women, while at the same time fight for "female privilege", like a lower standard of proof for women in domestic abuse situations or divorce law.

Likewise, it's good to have some portion arguing one stands for election fairness, to attack things that benefit republicans like the electoral college, but also make sure people know youve fixed things hard, to demoralize opposition.

Admitted to what?

Seriously, everything this shadowy cabal did is just a combination of banal or duh. Wait, anti-Trump groups advocated for more mail-in ballots and pressured Facebook to crack down on groups they didn't like? STOP THE PRESSES.

I'd also point out that groups like this are always willing to puff themselves up and claim that they are important and responsible for a Big Thing that happened rather than admit they were just a fragment of the larger picture. A classic example of this is Kermit Roosevelt who tried to portray himself as single-handedly overthrowing Mossadeq when the reality was that Mossadeq basically pissed off every single major faction within Iranian society.
