I mean, it could be not that big a deal, people can sue for however much money they want, but then it wouldn't make a good title. Anyways some English bird named Anne Longfield, a former Childs Commissioners (I don't know what that is) from Merry 'fucking' England is bringing the lawsuit to ByteDance owned TikTok on behalf of millions of children in the UK and EU who comprise a large proportion of the 800 million degenerate users of TikTok.

BBC said:
If successful, the children affected could each be owed thousands of pounds.

TikTok said the case was without merit and it would fight it.

Lawyers will allege that TikTok takes children's personal information, including phone numbers, videos, exact location and biometric data, without sufficient warning, transparency or the necessary consent required by law, and without children or parents knowing what is being done with that information.

Good. Big Tech can get fucked, and defending privacy against these vultures is always a good thing. And fuck TikTok on principle.
Is anything being done to Alphabet,Microsoft and Facebook? This is just protecting globalist big tech's monopoly from the Chinese imho. None of them respect anyones privacy. I mean lt's still a good thing but unless the others are getting hit too then it really only benefits the real enemy.

In unrelated news... over seven million TikTok accounts were removed for being of suspected underaged content. This represents almost 1% of the TikTok accounts and the minimum age allowed on the platform is 13.

The report also said:

  • 61,951,327 videos were removed for violating the app’s rules, fewer than 1% of all videos uploaded
  • 82% of them were removed before being viewed, 91% before any user reported them, and 93% within 24 hours of being posted
  • 1,921,900 ads were rejected for violating advertising policies and guidelines
  • 11,149,514 accounts in total were removed for violating guidelines and terms of service.
TikTok emphasised that it has introduced several measures to protect teenagers on the platform, including limiting features like private messaging and live-streaming to users aged 16 and over.

The UK has stronger data protection rules than a lot of places. I'm not sad to see the likes of TikTok get a kicking.
