Sebastian Cassian, Latin Teacher at Ruby Agnes High School and Historian in Virginia, was quite bored today, it was a weekend and his fridge was almost empty, he would have to go get some Rice from Walmart. He started his car up and started to drive, he got a little bored on his way there so he put on some Music, and started to bop his head, unintentionally closing his eyes. He didn't notice he had swerved to the wrong lane and a car was speeding towards him.

The pain was worse than anything he had ever experienced, and the airbag had destroyed his ribcage. Sebastian was flung out of the car and laid there on the ground, he could see a man, possibly the car driver since he had some bruises and a bloody nose, trying to pull him out of the car but Sebastian closed his eyes, he knew he wouldn't make it to the hospital...

Sebastian woke up, he wasn't in any pain, and he knew there was no way he could have made it to the hospital. He opened his eyes, looking at the forest surrounding him, he guessed he might be in heaven. He wasn't wearing his normal clothing, his new clothes were made of wool, and he had a cloak on, he wore knee breaches and sandals. He walked through the forest, it wasn't too thick and he quickly came upon a hill overlooking a vast city.

The city looked ancient, with white stone houses, and many monuments, he slowly ascended the hill, walking into the city. He saw a man walking along the streets and ran up to him. "Sir?" He asked, the man turned around but he looked confuse. "Where am I?" Sebastian asked, hoping the man understood him. "Non intellego verbum tuum dicens." The man said, he spoke Latin. He looked closer at the city, noticing the architecture was Roman and the people were wearing traditionally Roman clothing, and all spoke Latin. As he realized where he was the man started to walk away. "Stultus ebrius est." The man said, calling him a stupid drunk.

Sebastian didn't follow the man further, simply standing there for a while, taking in the fact he had somehow time travelled back to the times of Ancient Rome, but when? During the great reign of Augustus? The chaos of the Third Century? Maybe during the height of the Emperor during Trajan, or even the tetrarchy of Aurelius. He also took into account that he may not even be in the Roman Empire, this could be the Republic too, maybe during the reign of Sulla or Caesar, or maybe the Punic Wars, or just after the Monarchy was abolished, and of course this could also just be a delusion before he died.

He walked further into Rome, seeing a crowd gathering around a man carrying a bloody toga, and he knew who the man was, it was Marc Antony. "Friends, Romans, countrymen, lend me your ears." Sebastian couldn't believe he was seeing this, Marc Antony was about to incite a riot in Rome. "I come to bury Caesar, not to praise him. The evil that men do lives after them. The good is interred with their bones. So let it be with Caesar. The noble Brutus has told you Caesar was ambitious." Sebastian wished he had a notepad around so he could right this down, but he could remember it, and it sounded very similar to Shakespeare's rendition, with some minor changes. "If it were so, it was a grievous fault, And grievously has Caesar answered it. Here, under leave of Brutus and the rest, for Brutus is an honourable man. So are they all, all honourable men. I have come to speak at Caesar's funeral. He was my friend, faithful and just to me, but Brutus says he was ambitious, and Brutus is an honorable man. He has brought many captives home to Rome Whose ransoms did the general coffers fill. Did this in Caesar seem ambitious? When that the poor have cried, Caesar wept. Ambition should be made of sterner stuff, yet Brutus says he was ambitious. And Brutus is an honourable man. You all did see that on the Lupercal I thrice presented him a kingly crown, Which he thrice refused: was this ambition? Yet Brutus says he was ambitious. And, sure, he is an honourable man. I speak not to disprove what Brutus spoke, but I am here to speak what I do know. You all did love him once, not without cause, what cause withholds you then, to mourn for him? My heart is in the coffin there with Caesar, and I must pause until it has come back to me."

Sebastian knew what happened next, Marc Antony showed Caesar's body to the crowd, Sebastian took in his features. The corpse was tall, definitely taller than Sebastian, he was of fair complexion, with white skin, he had virtually no facial hair, and his hair was very clean cut, noticeably bald with blonde hair, he was very fit with strong muscles, and he was wearing a toga. Sebastian listened as Marc Antony read Caesar's will, and managed to rally the people to his side.

He watched as all hell broke loose, the plebs ran everywhere, trying to get the conspirators. He ran around, trying to see everything that happened, he was a historian after all, he managed to see some plebs burning down the conspirators houses, and as he was running he heard the familiar words "Truly, my name is Cinna." Sebastian stopped in his tracks, slowly turning to see a scared man surrounded by angry commoners. "Tear him to pieces, he's a conspirator!" Sebastian slowly started to walk towards them, he had the chance to save the innocent poet Cinna, who had been mistaken as the conspirator Cinna.

" I am Cinna the poet; I am Cinna the poet!" Sebastian broke through the crowd, stepping in front of Cinna. "He's innocent, do not hurt this man! He is no conspirator, he is a great Poet, he has done nothing to hurt you!" Sebastian shouted. "Tear him for his bad verses, tear him for his bad verses!" The plebs shouted. "What bad verses!? I bet none of you have ever read Cinna's verses!" Sebastian shouted. " I am not Cinna the conspirator!" Cinna shouted. Sebastian clenched his fists, ready to fight. "it is no use, his name is Cinna!" They shouted. "So just because this innocent poet happens to be name Cinna, you'll purge him, even though he has done nothing against you? Look at yourselves, your acting like brutes!" Sebastian shouted. The crowd stopped, looking shocked, after an unknown amount of time passed and the plebs eventually left, scurrying away.
