The War in Afghanistan

Oh, lovely. They've sent me a mo-ron.
Do you have another source? Also why did they not post the colonel name? Sounds like someone who deserves the Vietnam treatment being called a baby killer.
That's the media for you even as they regurgitate it.

Because the politically sensitive one meant omitting big, influential countries like Russia and China, plus their close pals, to not offend them.

The original Axis of Evil was Iraq, Iran, and North Korea. Then there was Beyond the Axis of Evil: Syria, Libya, and Cuba. And then there were Outposts of Tyranny: Belarus, Zimbabwe, and Burma.

Iraq kinda got "neutralized" off it. The rest is the same, often proxies of Russia or China.

Well, Libya also got off of this list, first due to Gaddafi's rapprochement with the West, and then due to Gaddafi being overthrown and replaced by a Libyan government that doesn't have any regional ambitions (and one that ultimately ended up losing control of large parts of its own country, for that matter).

So, Yeah, Iraq and Libya got off this list but the rest of them stayed on, other than sort-of Cuba, which has successfully pursued a rapprochement with the US over the last decade.

US negotiated a swap of kidnapped American engineer Mark Frerichs for a Taliban Drug Lord in US custody.

RTE Online said:
The United States has confirmed the release of American engineer Mark Frerichs in exchange for senior Taliban figure Haji Bashir Noorzai, a senior Biden administration official said.

Mr Biden granted clemency to Noorzai after he spent 17 years in US government custody, the official said.

Frerichs was working on a civil engineering project on Afghanistan when he was abducted by the Taliban two years ago.

BREAKING!

Taliban has banned the game Player Unknown Battlegrounds for 'Promoting Violence' and 'misleading youth.' Apparently the game is allegedly popular in the country of over twenty million banned websites with a reported hundred thousand people playing PUBG in country. Or were anyways...

Military Times said:
According to the local report, the regime has called the game “a source of national moral panic” for some time. It has also been responsible for commandeering internet servers throughout the country, occasionally drawing upwards of 100,000 Afghan gamers at once — a reflection of the game’s soaring popularity among teens.

Afghanistan joins Pakistan and India as other countries to ban the game, the Afghan news service reported. Also included in the imminent ban is the social media platform TikTok.

Well it looks like they recognize the dangers of TikTok at least but honestly, I'm surprised it hasn't been Talibanned already.

Is it still legal in Pakistan? If so, Afghans could go/move there to play it?

So?
We should offer refugee status to any Christians. But for the most part the people support religious law. I don't see a problem. Let them do what they want in their borders.
