I was going to comment that the article @Vaermina linked actually says that because the dip in the poll held into the next month when TV coverage of Afghanistan decreased, it couldn't have been all about Afghanistan in the first place.

And while it's sad that the assumption is that the public's attention span is so low, this is a good thing if true on this issue - Biden is bad because he's bad for America, not because he's bad for the globalist empire based out of it.

Who wore it better: Russia or the US?

I mean, Russia had the US funding opposition, they had a calm withdrawal, and most of the current infrastructure and stuff in the country seems to have been built by them (might be wrong about that by this point, but it's probable that anything we built was just a renovation of Russian stuff).

On the other hand, the US... Yeah.

Russia killed way more civvies and left minefields behind. loads of them that routinely kill kids even today. also we have modernized most of the infrastructure. soviets generally were pretty shit at nation building. not that we are much better.

Difference was, Russia actually won, the U.S. didn't. Their puppet state actually outlasted the USSR even, only collapsing in 1992 after the Soviets themselves had already bit the dust. After Jalalabad in '89, the CIA and ISI assessed the Muj had been reduced to a police level threat, which the Afghan Army itself could handle.

I don't know if I'd put too much faith in America's "Over the Horizon" Counter-Terrorism abilities to manipulating ISIS-K into doing anything the CIA wanted beyond generalities. Though I'm sure the CIA is more then capable of throwing money and weapons at the problem, that's never in doubt. 😁

Difference is, the PRC will show no hesitation about going right for the source in the form of wahhabist inams/anyone taking saudi and/or CIA money, rather than just exploding random people with flying terminators, radicalizing their surviving friends and family.

They're welcome to try and fuck them even harder when they have their own shit in their backyard to deal with even as more and more of them will start killing more Chinese nationals in Belt and Road projects they can get away with.
