The ol' 'Rona - got sick? Got vaccinated? Tell us!

If you're coughing and suffering chills it's much more likely that you simply caught a cold while your system was weakened by the vaccine -- it's not a live virus vaccine, so it should indeed be impossible for you to catch an actual case from the vaccine itself, and the vaccine doesn't contain enough *material* to still be directly affecting you this far down the line.

So I'm still coughing and suffering chills five weeks after getting vaccinated. I called my home doctor this morning and got a call back in the evening where an irate nurse told me there was no way I was suffering ill effects five weeks after getting the vaccine, and also I would not be allowed to come into the office as I'd reported symptoms.

I'm calling the county office in the morning to lodge a complaint, I'm severely ticked off by their minimizing it.
At a guess, maybe your immune system was weakened for a few days right after the vaccine, which allowed another bug to slip in, and that's what you're suffering. Because the nurse is right, even a full-on covid sickness shouldn't last that long.

basing your perception of the disease only on your personal experience is brick stupid.

You do realize your countering his anecdotal evidence with your own anecdotal evidence right?

a lot of my motivation for doing it comes from the "green pass" system my country uses

Hmmm...congratulations, you've become a 'good' citizen.

This resulted in a rash of mothers trying to purposely expose their kids to people sick with COVID so they can get sick, recover and get the pass.

If this illness were actually more serious than it is, I'd recommend EVERY parent do this. Having children build up their immunity while they are 'virtually' risk free of serious symptoms is how you defeat a virus like this in your population. Hell, I'm still thinking about it. What we're doing as a response to the virus is causing MORE long term harm than just letting people live without constraints is going to cause.

We've isolated the healthy instead of the sick for the 1st time ever. This causes alll sorts of harm to the immune systems of the healthy. We're bathing in anti-bacterial gel and soaps which kills off ALL bacteria on our skins including the kind that actually protects us for things like Covid. Lack of exercise and exposure to the sun from just being outside is further weakening immune systems. THIS is why the Delta variant has been so effective. NOT because it's so much more aggressive, but because, as a population, we've severely weakened our defenses against it.

I certainly won't deny I got lucky. But the virus, as bad as it is, isn't as deadly as the media had made it out to be. If I remember correctly, current survival rate has actually increased from 99.4% to 99.5%. And I think that might be due to better therapeutics.

Better numbers of covid deaths CDC dropped number of covid deaths for 2020 for the second time. Now under 346,000.

Unfortunately states like MICHIGAN did not require a positive covid test as a requirement for a “covid death” as I found out from an ARCGIS college class.

Even with skewed numbers the average covid death was 81 years old,( with 2 comorbidities).

Life expectancy in the US is 79 years old.

From my own data analytics 95% of covid deaths are >64 years old. ( just a quick dive from three states data results. Ones that did not force covid positive people into senior facilities).

Back in Early 2020, I was amazed no media pointed out 60% of the countries covid deaths came from NY state?

Anyone get or attempt to get a religious exemption?

Curious to know what the experience was, how easy or hard they made it, whether or not they granted it, and whether or not there was any retribution.

Uh... @Spartan303 @S'task since I think you've mentioned deciding not to get it, tagging you here, if you don't mind.

I'm basically my companies gunni pig.

I got a 1 doller and hour raise for the first shot, the second one and the booster, after seeing how the booster knocked me on my ass the company has decided not to require people to get vaxed if they don't want to.

It would probably be difficult for me to argue a religious exemption considering I've already gotten the first two shots and simply don't wish to risk getting any further ones considering what has already happened to me.

If you had severe side effects, you could try for a medical exemption.

Italian here.

Caught my first recorded coof in Barcelona. August-September 2021. Viral load said absent.

When I got my negative test result I immediatly flew the next day. Getting the shitty Green Pass took a month and half. It is valid until March 2022, problem will be after because allegedly the green pass will stop only Summer 2022.

But my state doctor almost gave 3 months instead of 6 because he wanted me to get vaxxed.

After my mom got worse with Pfizer vaxx with rheumatoid arthritis and psoriasis exploded so much and my (although rare) sister's episodic psychotic burnouts (screaming, shouting, death threats against our mom and me) I am not getting the poison.

My mother is not doing the 3 dose. My sister unfortunately says it's perfectly normal to do it every time the Italian government says so!

I just hope I finish my uni as quickly as I can.

Thankfully, I'm in Texas, and the company I work for is old school family owned.

Texas is one of the few places I would love to visit and/or study, and/or work, together with Florida. I think I would fair decently considering I speak four languages (Italian,Spanish,Portuguese and well I am writing in the de facto language of the United States).

How are Universities there ?

You're always welcome! Unless you're gonna California my Texas!

As for universities...we have some pretty good ones, and they aren't all giving up the ghost to the wokism. Though, it IS impacting all of them to some degree.

Feel free to message me for more info if you like. Don't want to derail.
